"In A Violent Nature" had its world premiere at the 2024 Sundance Film Festival, where it received strong notices for its direction by Chris Nash, which takes the approach of telling a slasher film from the perspective of the serial killer rather than the victims. The film disgusted audiences with its brutal and highly meticulous kills and is now being released in theaters by IFC Films, with a streaming release on Shudder set for later this year. Nash was kind enough to spend some time talking with us about his feature directorial debut. Interview With "In A Violent Nature" Director/Writer Chris Nash

Writer/director Chris Nash's first feature-length film, "In a Violent Nature," premiered during Sundance 2024 and left audiences stunned, a feat it's continued to do through festival screenings leading up to the wide U.S. release on May 31st. Ahead of the release, two of the actors, Andrea Pavlovic (Kris) and Ry Barrett (Johnny), sit down to chat with EoM Contributor Joel Winstead on a brand new episode of EoM Presents in which they discuss Pavlovic's turn as a final girl, Barrett's specific movements for Johnny as to develop a unique style, and more.

When a locket is removed from a collapsed fire tower in the woods that entombs the rotting corpse of Johnny, a vengeful spirit spurred on by a horrific 60-year old crime, his body is resurrected and becomes hellbent on retrieving it. The undead golem hones in on the group of vacationing teens responsible for the theft and proceeds to methodically slaughter them one by one in his mission to get it back - along with anyone in his way.

Julius en Jasper bespreken hun favoriete moordscènes in horrorfilms. 

Onder andere de befaamde oogscène uit Zombi 2, Olga’s dansscène uit Suspiria (2018), Kevin Bacon’s dood in Friday the 13th, de ongelukken uit Death Proof en Final Destination 2, de mokerslag uit The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, de marionette uit A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors, het werk van Art the Clown en de basketbal uit Deadly Friend komen voorbij. Daarnaast blikken ze terug op het Imagine Film Festival.

77. Onze favoriete moordscènes in horrorfilms

De dertiende aflevering van het vierde seizoen van Cinepraatjes, de podcast van Cinemaatjes. We staan even stil bij het overlijden van horrorlegende Tony Todd. We hebben weer een nieuw Maatje op onze Patreon-pagina nl. Yaël Pollie en die valt gelijk met z’n neus in de boter. We hebben laatst samen met Bram van ‘Moviegelul met Vrienden’ een audio-commentaar track opgenomen bij ‘De Lift’ van Dick Maas en dit voor onze Maatjes op onze Patreon-pagina gezet. Uiteraard is ook Marino er weer met een sonnet, die op het eerste gehoor vrij eenvoudig lijkt. JP heeft gekeken naar de nieuwe slasher ‘In a Violent Nature’ met een bijzonder concept. William keek de horror-comedy ‘Ready or Not’ met Samara Weaving. JP keek ook nog naar ’Saturday Night’, een nieuwe film van Jason Reitman over een uitzending van het sketch-programma ‘Saturday Night Live’. We trokken weer een VHS-band uit de kast en hebben twee gasten bereid gevonden om deze hoes voor te lezen. Het is de obscure straight-to-video film ‘The Abomination’. In de Special hebben we weer iets nieuws verzonnen, wat we vaker kunnen doen en dat zal dus ook zeker gebeuren. Ook beantwoorden we weer vragen over de do’s en dont’s van Dick Maas’ ‘Amsterdamned 2’, onze favoriete triootjes in niet-porno films, films waarvan we alle tekst kunnen mee praten en films waar we dat graag van zouden kunnen, onze top 5 winterse films en een streamingdienst waarop onze gereviewde films te zien zijn en dat bracht ons op een geweldig idee! Veel luisterplezier!
