Original Program notes: Crowd Music is the composer's first experimental piece. The work harnesses the sonic power of a crowd of people, and explores timbres of words by way of original, and at times meaningless poems. This work applies ideas from Luigi Russolo's influential futurist manifesto: The Art of Noises.

Crowd music explores 3 different timbres. In the first section, the poems are composed of "round" sounds, worlds like "millenium", "noon", and "yearly". no t's, s's, d's, or k's are found in this first section.

The second section employs sibilant words, or words with hissing sounds. Words with s's, sh's, z's, and even zh's are found in this section.

The third secton makes use of words with plosive sounds, that is to say, words with t's, k's, p's, d's, and ch's. 

In the fourth and final section, the initial "round" peoms make a return, and the piece fades into whispers.
