The three of them —DD, Andrew, and Cap —spoke in hushed voices as they discussed the events of the past two days.

"Let her tell you the story, Cap,” Andrew said, nodding to his brother. "She wrote down all the details and has evidence in her backpack."

DD kept her emotions out of the story, recounting it with a serious, clear tone. She told Cap about the ominous storm and green skies, how the television turned on without power, the green and pink, fluorescent lines, the smell of cotton candy, and the mist.
