I've always wanted to play a set that is completely improv and in the moment. Thankfully after a while, I had access to a 4 channel setup and I could really do stuff that I felt like doing in the moment.

The whole set is basically a bunch of loops and sections of songs put together and layered on top of each other. This approach would let me do things like have a Sitar Solo on top of some nice groovy electronic beats.

As I explore indian classical electronic music more, I feel like one element of Indian Classical music is lost - which is the improvisational nature of classical music and the extended long solo-ing that often happens along with it.

This set is closer to that ideal of what a "true" Indian Classical electronic representation would seem like.

I thought it would be a nice approach for a set being played in a venue like Alliance Française which is steeped in rich cultural traditions.

PS: Since it is a Hybrid set, do expect some imperfections here and there. Its not a bug, its a feature of doing things live.

Shivhari is a DJ / Musician who envisions bringing Indian Classical Music into the electronic realm.  Having trained in Carnatic classical (Mridangam and Vocals), his brushes with music has spanned an arc of 20 years. 

Taking a stance to not conform to a particular genre, his sound is often described as a mixture of classical and organic soundscapes meeting the structure and familiarity of electronic music. 
His selections are driven by intuition and a strong conviction of trusting his ear. They often have a strong percussive motifs blended with indian elements.

Shivhari is incredibly passionate about the Asian Underground / Indian Fusion movement and is on a mission to bring Indian fusion music to the forefront.

Shivhari believes that music is a valid path towards spirituality - the creators and supporters of the music are both using the space to move ahead in their journeys.

Shivhari is passionately curious and is interested in spirituality, product management, consciousness studies, software development and psychology. His music is the attempt to present the universality and multitudes of all experiences.

mr.coon (real name Gerhard Martini) was born in 1972 in Bolzano, South Tyrol. Raised in Terlan, he initially pursued the visual arts by attending the Academy of Painting in Florence, but soon discovered his true passion in music. After making his first steps into the industry through TV and radio spots, his budding career was abruptly halted in 1998 when he suffered a traumatic brain injury just two weeks after his first live performance. Despite the challenges of recovery and the burden of strong medication, Gerhard found the strength to rebuild his life and channel his technical skills into music production.

In 2004, he released his debut album Die Träumer in collaboration with Martin Troger. In 2010, he earned a scholarship to the Music and Media Academy in Hamburg, where he graduated as a music designer. Today, mr.coon dedicates himself entirely to his music and creative projects, collaborating with other artists
