On this month’s show, your friends at the Department return once more to the theme of Minimal Wave - the phenomenon of dark, provocative, DIY synth music from the thriving underground music culture that emerged in tandem with affordable production and recording technology in the early 1980s. Taking in a broad view of the subculture, you can expect to hear celebrated acts such as This Mortal Coil and Severed Heads as well as early experiments from future legends such as Geir Janssen, aka Biosphere, and Nocturnal Emissions.

Thinks Digital Hardcore is the peak of music, you can't make him think otherwise.

Probably the inventor of the term "Violent Lo-Fi". Meaning the older "Lofi-esque" style of digital hardcore breakbeat soundtracks. Imagine artists/bands like Ec8or (Eradicator) and Christoph De Babalon (a lot of DHR falls into this category lol).
