But here’s the catch: no one else has a copy of that manual. And when people don’t follow our unspoken rules, we end up making it mean something painful—like “they don’t care,” or “they don’t love me.” That pain builds up, and it affects our emotional and physical health, especially when we’re healing after something as life-changing as breast cancer.

We verzetten ons niet tegen ervaringen, we drukken geen sensaties weg. We laten het leven gewoon zijn, zoals het is. En we ontmoeten het met een zachte, ontvankelijke aanwezigheid. Wij zijn de vrede zelf, en ontmoeten alles wat zich voor ons ontvouwt, met zachtheid, tederheid en vriendelijkheid.

Dit is het ware pad naar innerlijke vrede. Simpelweg de vrede in jezelf zijn, in dit moment, zonder oordeel. Alles ontvangend, luisterend, troostend. Gewoon leren om het leven te laten zijn, zoals het is. Dat is alles.
