“Gone Too Soon” by Heidi Wehrmann LaMarr
I look at her and think of you.
Flourishing in the moment,
Surrounded by an ocean of sky and clouds.

Strength beyond size.
Wisdom beyond years.
She smiles,
     Innocent and bright.
You smile,
     Secrets hidden behind your eyes
	sadness,
	loneliness,
	emptiness.

I look at her and wonder if she 
     will make a similar choice and be,
	before we know,
	     without a warning,
			gone too soon.

In memory of L.J., N.W., D.R., J.E., B.B. and all the others who were gone too soon.
