the opening track of the Set It Off! CDR (2000), a barely remembered release. CDRs were wrapped in yellow paper envelopes with red text and matches and firecrackers taped to it. Distribution was we put 10 of them in the low-hanging branches of trees and cavities of damaged police boxes. Our friends didn't want any. 

The second album (recorded post-9/11, posted below) was more ambitious in it's stated aim to destroy music (on Earth) and then provide the only way forward. It was a Blue Meanies scenario, the evil robots were making the threats but we were committed to channeling the bad vibes required in the second act. 

Both of these albums had a 18 minute plus ritual track that we don't circulate any more since the incident.

The Feedbackorchestra FBO was founded in Berlin in 1999 and consists of 8 electric guitarists who work exclusively with feedback. The music of the FBO is very concentrated and meditative on the one hand, yet at the same time has a very impressive physical presence, often drawing comparisons to various forces of nature by the audience. It's a constantly and slowly rolling stream of vibrations, frictions, and rising and falling walls of sound in which tones and harmonies constantly attract, break, and find each other again.  
In addition to the contemplation and quiet moments, the music is often performed at thundering volume.
The orchestra is always arranged in a circle to ensure the closest possible contact between the players, while the audience can freely move around this circle to listen to the music from different positions.

The pieces are primarily performed in unusual locations with unique acoustic, architectural or other features.
That respective space always mixes into the freely improvised piece being performed, creating impressive moments of mutual influence. (Another feedback in itself.).
 
FBO now has a permanent staff of guitarists who have been making music in various bands and projects in Berlin for several decades, like Ziguri, Knochen=Girl, Midget, Golden Showers, Mutter, Schneider TM, Metabolismus, Ilse Lau, and many more. The orchestra has been performing since 1999; the first show took place in the wide stairwell of the legendary club “Maria am Ostbahnhof." 
This was followed by many performances in special places, such as cathedrals, ruins, concert halls, barns, and water reservoirs, from the Niederfinow ship lift to the Völkerschlachtdenkmal Leipzig, from Stasi headquarters to underground rock clubs. 
With the release of the vinyl album in the fall of 2024, the FBO is now swiftly entering its second quarter of a century, as determined as ever.

Arii Shokyu-Ni was a haiku poetess during the Edo period who began a wandering life after running away from her husband at 29 with the haiku poet Kohaku. Just like Matsuo Basho, "the Nun Shokyu" traveled to the Deep North of Japan.

"Pneuma” is part of a project about soundscape and improvisation by “Ebo Ensemble”.

The project reflects on soundscapes as living scores which can work as instruments for the improviser and the composer that plants ideas inside their minds to be developed and re-interpreted through technology.
The output is the creation of a third soundscape in which co-exits human presence and natural environment.
“Ebo Ensemble” is composed by the improvisers: Domenico Saccente (accordion), Azzurra Carrozzo (flute) and the composer Luigi Scaramuzzo.

This track has been selected as part of the va "Landscape 2024".
