This Christmas you can step into the Sherman Studio and enter a magical world with Gwawr Loader’s new version of The Frog Prince by the Brothers Grimm.

Filled with songs, laughter and fun, this charming and magical show is perfect for ages 3-6.

A co-production between Sherman Theatre and Theatr Cymru. The Frog Prince is directed by Elin Phillips with James Ifan as the Assistant Director. The music for the show is composed by Lucy Rivers with Josh Bowles as the Sound Designer and the lighting is designed by Ceri James. 

The set and costumes are designed by Carl Davies. All of the seats have been removed in the studio theatre and been replaced with pink and green mats on the floor with white benches behind, set on two sides of the stage area. There are also a few black chairs at the very back of the seating. The concrete pillars that hold up the balcony are painted in pink or green and have glittery sparkle stripes attached.

The set is very glittery and shiny and has a pink side and a green side. Running along the centre of the stage area is a bright green carpet, in the middle of the two seating areas. There are green glittery streaks all over the carpet with gold stars dotted about on the pink side and gold sparkly circles on the green side.

In the centre of the carpet is a large flat circular rug patterned with a large pink glittery crown. There are also pink, green and purple swishes and stars in a random pattern. 

‘Brogs Den’ is on the green side of the stage. At the back is a sparkly curtain made out of green and gold glittery thick cotton strips. In front of the curtain is a large, deconstructed Christmas Tree about 6 feet high made from large, thick painted green wooden circles, balanced at angles. Dotted around the circles are bright red glitter circles and gold stars. Poking out of the top of the tree on a long pole is a large 10 spoke wooden gold star with a shiny red centre and small gold stars stuck on 5 of the spokes.  

At the front of the tree there are three glittery green material plants on stands with gold sparkly reeds popping up out of the top.   On the left-hand side there is a guitar on a stand wrapped in green tinsel. 

Opposite the green side is the Tre Melys Palace and Beauty’s wardrobe which is all in pink. 

There is a large light pink wooden wardrobe with a light purple inset design. There is one long draw in the centre at the bottom. On each side of the doors, there are three open shelves and 3 draws. All of the draws have large metal knobs. The wardrobe is also decorated with large gold stars and gold hearts.  On the shelves are sparkly shoes, tiaras or crowns. 

On each side of the wardrobe there are curtains of pink, purple and silver sparkly strips of thick cotton. 

In front of the wardrobe there is a gold glittery foot stool with a sparkly gold case sat on top of it. To the side of the wardrobe there is a small painted green harp that is called a ??/ and is on a strap. 

Above the set are colourful streamer ribbons strung from the balcony and all looped to the centre of the stage. Along the ribbons there are festoon lights that change colour throughout the show. From the centre a large ornate sparkly gold chandelier hangs down. There are bright LED strip lights underneath the balcony, green lights on the green side and pink lights on the pink side. 

The Frog Prince will star two actor musicians, Anni Dafydd and Owen Alun.

Born and based in Berlin, Lueking brings many facets to his electronic compositions. His productions have found their home on labels such as Parquet Recordings, DEEP TALES, DIT KLINGT JUT, YION Berlin and Dear Deer Dubs. His enthusiastic attitude towards experimentation, coupled with an exceptional creative vision and sophisticated design, Lueking is always on the lookout for new challenges.

Who inspired you the most on your path as an artist?

There has never been one single defining artist for me. My inspirations have always come in phases: in the beginning it was mainly Extrawelt, later Oliver Huntemann, and then artists like Adana Twins, Dahu, Toto Chiavetta, Maceo Plex, and Baime. Today I draw a lot from the sound of Raxon, John Monkman, Shall Ocin, James Harcourt, and many others. It’s always been a mix of different artists who have shaped me.

What do you do to get into a creative state?

Creativity comes naturally to me — what gets in the way sometimes is lacking distance. If I leave a production for a few weeks, I return with fresh ears and see the track in a completely new light. Routine also helps a lot: going to the studio regularly, discovering new music, new artists, and new sounds keeps me constantly inspired. Having a clear mind is equally important — I work best when I’ve taken care of other tasks first, so I can fully focus once I’m in the studio. And if nothing flows, I take a deliberate break, because you can’t force creativity. I also never use substances or alcohol in the creative process — my best ideas always come with a clear head.

Favorite release at the moment & of all time?

Right now I’m into those two: Dubfire & Oliver Huntemann – Amor (Devoción Mix) and Maksim Dark – Stamper. If I had to choose an all-time favorite, it would be Trentemøller - Moan (Trentemøller Remix).

It can draw us into the present moment, where just the music exists - unfolding through time, moment by moment. When we let go and merge into the auditory sensations, it takes us on an inner journey. Using this not to escape, but to fully embrace reality as it is, music can help us release tensions and bring balance to our everyday life. 
Especially dance music allows us to unify with the flow of the music. When we express the energy it releases within us, by just giving ourselves to it and following the spontaneous and authentic movements of our bodies, we can experience a state of connection, peace and joy. Doing this collectively, synchronously moving to the same rhythm and sharing this special experience, we feel a connection that resonates within.

With DIT KLINGT JUT we want to express our love for music and manifest the meaning it can have for all of us. We do this by providing a thoughtfully curated space for artists and labels to share their music, organizing events & live-streams and serving as a platform to share ideas on music and the creative process.

Born and raised in San Diego, AlliDoisChange is a 20-year-old artist and devoted believer in Jesus Christ as God. Music is his outlet — a way to share his thoughts, faith, and life experiences. Even when his songs aren’t about God, you won’t hear cussing — it’s simply not who he is.

Calm and easygoing by nature, he values collaboration and often works with other artists, encouraging listeners to check out their music as well. His sound drifts between pop, hyperpop, hardstyle, emo, punk rock, and doomer, with lyrics in English, Russian, and Japanese.
