نامه بی‌کلام به یک دوست
این قطعه، بداهه‌نوازی عودی است که در خلوتی شخصی شکل گرفت؛ شبیه به نامه‌ای بی‌کلام، که گفته نشد اما در صدا جاری شد. موسیقی‌اش ساده و صادقانه است و حس درونی را بی‌واسطه منتقل می‌کند.
این ترک به یاد دوستی ضبط شده که حضورش همیشه در سکوت حس می‌شد.
تقدیم به حمید قربانزاده، دوست عزیزم، که این ساز را برایم ساخت.

This piece is an improvised oud solo, shaped in a quiet personal moment — like a letter left unsent, expressed through sound. Its music is simple and honest, carrying a feeling without words.
It was recorded in memory of a friend whose presence was always felt in silence.

گروه بربت | Barbat Ensemble

گروه موسیقی بربت، مجموعه‌ای از نوازندگان نسل نو موسیقی ایران است که از دل تعامل، بداهه‌نوازی و گفت‌وگوی بی‌واسطه‌ی سازها شکل گرفت. این گروه، با محوریت ساز و نه صدا، در تلاش است تا جهانی شنیداری خلق کند که هم‌زمان ریشه در موسیقی کلاسیک ایرانی دارد و افق‌هایی معاصر و شخصی را نیز می‌کاود.

اعضای گروه، بدون سرپرستی رسمی، به‌شیوه‌ای مشارکتی گرد هم آمده‌اند. ایده‌ اولیه شکل‌گیری این مجموعه توسط آرمان سیگارچی، نوازنده عود، صدابردار و طراح آلبوم، مطرح شد.

در گروه بربت، سازهایی چون عود (بربت)، سه‌تار، نی، کمانچه و تنبک حضور دارند و در ترکیبی آزاد، هر 
قطعه را به تجربه‌ای مستقل بدل می‌کنند.

آلبوم «دریاوار | Sea Like» نخستین اثر رسمی این گروه است که در سال ۲۰۱۷ منتشر شد. مجموعه‌ای شامل هفت قطعه‌ی مینیمال، سیال و تأمل‌برانگیز که در آن‌ها، اصول تئوریک موسیقی ایرانی چون مدگردی، وزن‌های آزاد، و دیالوگ میان سازها، حضوری کلیدی دارند.

Barbat Ensemble is a collective of new-generation Iranian musicians who came together through improvisation, sonic dialogue, and a shared desire to let instruments speak. Centered around instruments rather than vocals, the ensemble draws from the deep roots of Persian classical music while exploring personal and contemporary expressions.

The group operates without a formal conductor. The initial idea was brought forth by Arman Cigarchi, the group’s oud player, sound engineer, and designer of the album’s concept and visuals.

Barbat Ensemble features instruments such as oud (barbat), setar, ney, kamancheh, and tombak, creating richly textured and emotionally resonant music. The inclusion of kamancheh adds a lyrical and narrative layer to the sound, enriching the interplay between instruments.

“Sea Like | Daryavar”, the ensemble’s debut album released in 2017, includes seven fluid and minimalistic compositions. The album showcases modal exploration, rhythmic freedom, and instrumental conversation—offering a deeply poetic and meditative listening experience.

As a talented tar player and conductor, Nader has collaborated with large orchestras and ensembles in various musical projects.

Shirani's compositions are known for their emotional depth and intricate musical structures. He is dedicated to merging traditional Iranian music with modern elements, creating innovative musical experiences. Currently, he continues to work on international projects as a conductor and composer, constantly updating his knowledge in harmony, orchestration, and classical music.

Biography:

From a young age, Kia had always been surrounded by music. As early as elementary school, Kia was involved in the Virginia State Choir and performing on TV Networks such as WETA and PBS.

Playing the Piano since age 8, Kia has always had a passion for composing and writing his own music.

In middle school and high school, Kia continued this musical passion by playing the flute in Band, as well as joining Men's Choir from 2000-2003. This all culminated in Kia performing in the 2001-2002 Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City. During this time, Kia also entered and learned at honed is craft at dancing at DoYouThinkYouCanDance and Monsters of Hip Hop, learning from dance legend choreographers such as Marty, Geo Hubela, Mr. Wiggles and Rhapsody. Kia was also part of the Virginia State Choir from 2001-2003.

Dating back to 2003, Kia K (a.k.a. DJ Kia), has become a mainstay in the nightlife of the Washington DC metro area. Since the age of 17, Kia has taken it upon himself to create a sound with a different edge. His creativity creates an intense yet unique atmosphere. His range is truly undefined, as there is no one real genre he is categorized under.

His style is best described in his own words as “house, synth, hip hop, with some pop, electro, and some international flavor all mixed into one. It’s a sound that you just can’t help but to move when you hear it.”

Kia has also gained popularity by performing at DCs finest night spots including Lima Lounge, Ultrabar, Darna Lounge, Fur, Eden, and Rosebar just to name a few.

Kia constantly gives back to the community. A graduate from George Mason University, he has done events at no charge for many student organizations across campus. Kia has also performed on the same night as many world renowned DJs and international artists such as Deep Dish, Tiesto, Armin Van Buuren, Filo & Peri, Ferry Corsten, Markus Schulz.

International Artists Include: Arash, Andy, Kamran & Hooman, Ebi, Pouya, Sepideh, Afshin, Black Cats, and Raghav. Not only being a DJ, Kia also is involved in singing, producing, and acting/modeling, eventually hoping to break through in all of these categories.

Kia always makes it a top priority to always give back to the community. A graduate from George Mason University, he has done events at no charge for many student organizations across campus and continues to work with all different charity organizations and relief funds in efforts to raise awareness and relief. From an academic standpoint, Kia received his juris doctorate in 2013 and is currently a partner at his own firm Kondori & Moorad, LLP.

Amir Atabak started his career as a rock guitar player and composer in the "Rational Sound" band in Tehran, Iran, in 2003. Amir was influenced by bands and artists such as Jean Michel Jarre, Alan Parson, Feed Me, Deadmouse, Hans Zimmer, James Newton Howard, Tiesto, and Deep Forest. In 2005 he immigrated to study in Pune, India, but most of the time, he spent in сlubs in Pune and Goa. "Since we brought DJ Amir, the number of customers visiting the club has increased by 60 percent", reported the owner of one of the clubs Amir was a resident of. Amit Atabak says: "For one year, I played in a tiny club with the biggest crowd of 30 people. I didn't have enough money to buy DJ headphones. My brother Babak sent me a Stanton 2000 from Canada, my first guitar, and the keyboard he purchased for me. My brother is the main reason I can continue." In 2017 he immigrated with his wife Samira to Canada to follow up on his dream.
