Music first found her through the gentle hum of her grandmother’s record player—an old wooden console that spun everything from Emmylou Harris to Norah Jones. But it wasn’t until her teenage years, after the loss of someone close, that Isla began writing songs of her own—at first in the margins of notebooks, then late at night with a borrowed guitar and a voice she was still learning to trust.
