<<< Pt. 2 >>> Big up reggae massive! I return to the "Tribute" series again this time honoring the works of the great Cocoa Tea who we lost recently. 
Cocoa Tea was one of the most popular singers in Jamaica from the 1980's until present achieving worldwide success in the world of reggae music until his untimely death on March 11, 2025 at the age of 65.

Colvin George Scott better know as Cocoa Tea was born in Clarendon, Jamaica in 1959 & entered the music scene in 1974 recording his first tune "Searching In The Hills" under his name Calvin Scott at the age of 14 for producer Willie Francis but when he revisited singing again in 1984 he scored his first big hits "Rocking Dolly" & "I Lost My Sonia" under the name Cocoa Tea both for producer Henry "Junjo" Lawes and the Volcano label. From there his career really took off scoring countless hits like "Informer", "Young Lover", "Tune In", "Love Me", "Riker's Island", "Good Life", "She Loves Me Now" while recording albums for producers Steve Byfield, Donovan Germain, King Jammy, Stanley Lindsay, Gussie Clarke, Mr. Doo, Mikey Bennett, Phillip "Fatis" Burrell, & Bobby Digital just to name a few. 

In 2003, Cocoa Tea started the annual New Year's Eve live music stage show in Jamaica called Dancehall Jam Jam which ran until 2009.
