'ITAI is an organic house artist and saxophonist whose magical style is a downtempo fusion of jazz and electronic beats.

Based in America, ITAI has travelled the world as a DJ and musician, and has released music on prestigious record labels ranging from The Soul Brothers' Talavera Records to Laroz's Camel Riders. He is a daydreamer whose music often takes influence from his travels and the different cultures he has experienced.

The Teddy Bear Lounge is a record label set up by ITAI to be an outlet for his own productions, and the imprint's debut series of releases is a musical story titled "Unfinished." Each release is a chapter in the story, and will culminate as an album that will enrapture mind, body and soul.

"Speedy Gonzales" is the 6th track in the Unfinished series, and it's inspired by a trip ITAI made to Central America where he visited places like Mexico and Panama. Inspired by the hot climates and Latino culture, Speedy Gonzales has a sun-drenched sound that warms up the dance floor with its upbeat rhythms.

It's a downtempo track, but the flowing percussion and flamenco style guitars fill the groove with offbeat energy that creates a feel-good vibe. ITAI has road-tested different versions of the track in his live performances, and every time the crowd has gone wild with excitement.

Speedy Gonzales opens with a funky bassline and vibrant percussion augmented with whistles and vocal chants. The track unfolds to present flamenco guitars cut by filters to create a trippy atmosphere. Panpipes add to the hip-shaking vibe of this musical masterpiece, which is guaranteed to get people up and dancing.'

It was Friday of Burning Man 2023, and the rain was coming down strong during that whole afternoon. There was absolutely no chance that the artists I had planned to play that day could show up, so one by one, the Treble Makers took over the booth. Right before sunset, I got called up. I wasn't feeling my absolute best, and I rarely play DJ sets anymore, but I felt like a man on a mission. The moment I plugged in my USB, I could see a little crack in the sky, between the mountains and the clouds, and I knew that even if it's just for a moment, the sun was coming...

The sun was followed by the most beautiful double rainbow I've ever seen, and one of the best parties Iv'e ever had the honor to curate music for.

Known for his releases on labels such as Laroz's Camel Riders and The Soul Brothers' Talavera Records, ITAI has also played live saxophone as part of collaborative performances with other artists such as BLOND:ISH.

This release is the 7th chapter of "The Unfinished Project" that ITAI has been releasing via his record label The Teddy Bear Lounge. "When It Gets Stormy" is the solo track on this release, and it pays homage to one of ITAI's friends called Stormy...

This release is the 8th instalment of the Unfinished Project where each track is a chapter of an overarching storyline, which will culminate in all the tracks being combined into an album.

Rapture

When I put together Volume 1 (Synthetic Rebellion) I'd given up on a mix i'd been working on, dealing with a bout of writers block, threw all my different tunes into a single palette and just mixed whatever came to mind. It was a different mix than anything I'd ever played before but it was cool, not focusing so much on linear mixing but just a flow of sounds, tracks, and samples that blended together. Anyways, that's what bore the Abstract Series. Oftentimes real creativity comes on the heels of frustration. 

That mix caught the attention of B.Helix as he shared a similar mixing style and he showed interest in collaborating with me on the concept. He's an artist and producer with a long history in music, not just electronic music but playing instruments, promoting, and just generally being involved in the music scene for a long time. Ben is a talented and humble musician and I'm honored to have him and his loyal listeners here to contribute to this thing we call Sound Stream Sessions, which started as a simple way to share and post mixes amongst my friends here locally, and over the years has taken on a life of it's own.

Volume 4.

B.Helix is ridin' solo for this fifth installment of the series using his signature style of blending different vibes and bpms, all while painting a coherent piece of art for the listeners to lose themselves in. 

He starts us off with an erie, suspenseful intro, fitting the artwork crisply, flowing into a steady and smooth vibe with jazzy and atmospheric undertones. From there, we're off as he melds a wide range of sounds, utilizing tribal vibes, house, and experimental electronica, weaved together tightly at the seams. Never a dull moment, keeping the listener engaged, flowing efficiently thru various genres and tempos.

Definitely one of my top picks from the Abstract Series as the session represents the concept behind it so well. Buckle up folks. Enjoy the ride!
