I had a dream in which I met with Jeff Tweedy. We walked through 1970’s council estates. I met people from his crew. We talked about what a real job is and though he invited me to accompany him at concerts and help him at sessions, I kept saying I might not be able to due to work.

Then we sat down. He had a circle of associates with him who talked about the gig. Nice people. He invited me to help him set up on stage and install a piano.

Later we walked and chatted and wrote a song. Singing it as we walked between concrete and grass, bridges and overpasses. Grey-white brutalist homes and a cloudy sky occasionally spotted with sunlight. Jeff wore a thick bubble jacket that was stained with purple and blue.

I woke up.
