hello strangers. It's been a while...

I've finally found some time and inspiration (long flights...) to immerse myself in some music and, like it or not, this is the result :-)

It's a blend of Joe Simon's immense Soul/Gospel epic "My Special Prayer" (a personal favourite), beefed up with layers of beats from J.C. Davis, The Mad Lads and Tom Scott, topped with a healthy dose of Guru and friends from Gang Starr's DWYCK and finished with some tasty scratching from the legendary DJ Premier.

Martha High, who sang on stage with James Brown for 30 years and was his longest-running female vocalist, is stepping back into the spotlight for a new solo album.

Martha HighSinging For The Good Times will be released on 22 April June on Blind Faith Records. The lead track from the album is 'Lovelight,' for which the radio impact date is 10 March. It's a welcome solo flight for High, now 71, who tours the world regularly as the lead singer with the band of Maceo Parker, another longtime acolyte of the Godfather of Soul.

High's credentials as one of Brown's most trusted allies, and as part of his historic contribution to the history of soul music are unimpeachable. She was with him and the JBs at their celebrated concert at the Boston Garden in April 1968 james-brown-boston-1968on the night after Martin Luther King's assassination, when Brown prevented further rioting with his sheer stage presence and positive message.

Martha was also by JB's side at such famous occasions as his courageous trip to Vietnam to entertain the American troops, and at the Rumble In The Jungle concert in Zaire, attended by 60,000 people, ahead of the George Foreman – Muhammad Ali fight of the same name in Kinshasa.

james-brown-payback-label-45-masterBrown rarely used other solo voices in his prolific recorded output, with the exception of Bobby Byrd, but High sings on the 1968 live recording of 'There Was A Time' featured on the Star Time box set. She's the striking vocalist at the beginning of his 1974 US R&B No. 1 'The Payback,' and appears on the 1976 hit 'Body Heat.'

Singing For The Good Times, recorded completely in analog for added authenticity, contains 11 original tracks, written, produced and arranged by Italian Soul Man Luca Sapio and his crew.

Resnik Music Group is owned by Robert and Sharen Resnik. RMG is a team comprised of a distinguished group of professional songwriters, established publishing companies and songpluggers who are dedicated to their craft - all with a common desire to make our music a success.

Wynston also known as Wes Blake originally from the UK via Barcelona and now since the last couple of years is now based in Berlin. 

Known for his underground pop up and Sonar parties in Barcelona which he was resident of Warehoused along side fellow residents Funk D'Void and Sian and has been regularly included on lineups featuring big hitters Solomun, Radioslave, Catz N' Dogz, Henry Saiz and Max Cooper all but a few of the stellar names he has featured with. 

Also showcasing at clubs such as the old Sankeys in Manchester, Dom Im Berg in Graz and Choko in Guayaquil being the furthest distance reached in Ecuador. His style curates a mixture of genres depending on the mood at the time, can go down more eclectic routes taking sets on a journey through space and time continuum. Mixing through anything from House to Techno with Jazz, Funk, Soul and Disco with even a bit of Dub through certain moments.  

 Inspired by life being in the Berlin music scene since the last couple of years has been busy again doing parties, djing and is finding inspiration for music working in one of the downtown Kreuzberg record stores. Fitting some what to his character with a relaxed down to earth attitude and a deep understanding of music can only make for fun vibes on the dance floor. 2017 will only serve to prove purpose in Wynston's musical flow.
