Two hours of some of my favorite tunes from over the years. Live from Clive Barker's fictional, dark, fantastical world of the Nightbreed, aka my house. However, it is recorded live and improvised. 

Some of these tracks are over 20 years old. I always like to point out that Progressive House is a newer term. Back in the day this is what was being played at lot of historic underground clubs. Trance falls into this category as well. It could be considered mainstream by some in it's modern form, and that's not completely wrong. Though, it's only because this music has persevered through decades while retaining it's inner core, growing fans as the years go on. 

   Perpetuity is the real spirit of this music. Most of our idols are still DJing in their 60's right now. True pioneers and dedicated to the craft. And the new blood is carrying that torch too.  There's new twists and by definition the genre is always going forward. It's limitless. To me its the music I've been listening to since high school. Its just tunes to us prog and trance fans. I hope you enjoy.

Cenobyte got his start in the Los Angeles club scene in 2012, transitioning from the crowd to interviewing DJ's and reviewing shows in the city under his House of Acid Reviews website. From there he began doing professional artist spotlights across the northeast, working with acts like Norm Talley, 4mplify, Ichisan, and being published with the Eskimo Recordings label. 

Finally making his way into Denver's underground, he immediately found himself working with crews like Sorted, CoClubs, Invisible City, Nocturnal, Gloom, and Mother Earth Sound System. Since then he's hit the decks and has been playing events alongside some of the best talent in the city; from iconic locals to international acts like Daniel Avery. 

The name Cenobyte is inspired from novelist Clive Barker; a man who specializes in peeling back the safe veneer of society and exposing the otherworldly. More importantly, a true ambassador for the things that go bump in the night. The oddly oppressed, and the strange. Whether Cenobyte is weaving through progressive belters, hypnotic blends of techno and house, or curating dark fantastical themes like the novelists he adores, you can always count on a journey through the unknown. Nicolas Ruiz is currently living in Argentina. He started his career as a DJ at the young age of 14, getting to know people from the party scene and the whole music environment. He also organized amazing events in the region of Misiones in Argentina, besides having his own radio show, where he showed his musical taste, his influences, and promising future.
Since his early age, he has had inquisitiveness at music trends and curiosity to dig into new sounds. In 2011, during a trip to his second home in Switzerland, he took part at a DJ competition and won the first prize: playing at the crowded Street Parade mega festival. The Street Parade is an event which gets together about 1 million people every year. Nicolas Ruiz won the contest through votes on the web, and through a jury that got dazzled by his great talent. Then, he showed his skills as a DJ to the crowd in one of the worlds biggest electronic party. After this huge experience, he participated at the Swiss Nightlife Awards, where he did the warm up to DJs like Fedde Le Grand and Eric Pridz.
During 2012, he was booked to play at different cities for important events in Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay and Switzerland, performing with Jimmy Van M (Bedrock), Marcelo Vasami (Buenos Aires), Facu Carri, D-Nox (Germany), and more. His musical style is House, Tech House and Progressive House, always adapting himself to the places, the party and, of course, to the crows.
