After listening to the incredible and angelic vocals by @katewildmusic, I instantly knew that I had to incorporate them into one of my tracks somehow, and after conjuring up some tropical chords in ableton, I immediately knew that it would click perfectly with the vocals. Next I added drums, percussion, tambourines, and also added some atmosphere in string form to give it its own universe and feel. Then, once I knew confidently that I had the bones of the track, I decided to chop up segments of the vocals in the hopes of making the catchiest part of the song, thus creating the melody that came to be. I worked extremely hard on trying to make such a melody that would stick and become catchy overtime, so I spent a long time experimenting with different variations of notes / pitches / progressions until I made what is now featured in the track. And then, after all of that was completed, it sat in SoundCloud (privately) for several weeks, with a blank cover art and a jumble of letters for a file name, despite the fact that when I first exported the original project file, I loved it so much, and was so sure that it was going to be an immediate release, but I just wasn't 100% happy with it to begin with. Even though I was still so proud of it and thought it was catchy, calming, and angelic, I shut off my laptop and didn't come back to it until several weeks later when I found myself re-visiting old projects, and stumbled across this one once again, and realised that I wanted to release this with a burning passion, but only when was 100% certain that I was happy with it. And so I went back again and again and tweaked a few elements here and there over the span of a few days, perfecting parts that only I would notice, and, after a while, I finally managed to reach a point where I was / am happy with how this turned out. So please do feel free to leave a comment and let me know what you think of it. It would mean the world of good to me to know that all of my work hasn't gone entirely to waste :))
