Jekke Jolle Kapitän Joseph Disco hält den Kahn auch bei Schlagseite auf Kurs & brettert mit uns volle Fahrt voraus in Richtung Übermoyn. Als Meister seines Fachs liefert er gloych eine zweistündige Reise mitten in's Auge des Sturms und zurück in den sicheren Hafen.. denn gegen den Wind zu kreuzen bringt eine/n* manchmal schneller zum Ziel als mit dem Wind zu segeln. 

Wir können es kaum erwarten wieder mit Oych das Holzbein zu schwingen & sagen herzlichen Dank für die Buddel voll Floorfroyde.. bis Übermoyn!

Mit der No.51 präsentieren wir Euch heute den Sound von Joseph Disco!

Joseph ist seit mehr als 15 Jahren aktiver Mitgestalter der Szene.
Vorerst noch als Resident im Kölner Club Playground, machte er sich dann zurück in seiner Heimat München, einen Namen durch seine eigenen Produktionen, die auf Labels wie zum Beispiel Stil vor Talent oder Great Stuff veröffentlicht wurden.
Mittlerweile ist Joseph in der Stadt Münster zuhause und hat eine Palette an unzähligen Releases vorzuweisen. Genauso zahlreich sind auch die Festivals und Clubs die er bespielt hat: Loveparade, Fusion Festival, Sisyphos, Kater Blau, Hive in Zürich - nur um ein paar wenige zu nennen.
Spätestens seit der Aufnahme in die Criminal Bassline Crew, ist er Dauergast in Berlin.
So übrigens auch am 24.6. auf unserem Verteiler Rave im Gretchen (mehr Infos folgen bald)!

Nun wünschen wir Euch aber erstmal ganz viel Spaß mit dem originalen Joseph Disco Sound, vollgepackt mit eigenen Produktionen!

In the mid to late 90’s, the dance scene in Wellington was a fully fledged adolescent with an ever-growing foothold on the local nightlife. Dance itself was about to go through a global cultural shift which would see it’s popularity explode and it become completely integrated into the musical landscape, but for the most part it was still an underground movement. It was an exciting time to go out and discover a new evolving sound, something the bars that plied the likes of R’n’B, Top 40 and Rock music were unable to provide or keep up with.  It was in this new melting pot of sound that HAPE first heard the pulsating rhythms and melodies that would go on to change his life. Being a punter first and foremost for a few years allowed him to refine the sound he liked to listen to and discover the venues that best catered to it. Golden era bars and clubs such as Tatou, Phoenix, The Nine Complex, Vurtigo, Paradiso, and a multitude more all touted the way forward for Wellington dance.   Looking back it’s now obvious that HAPE was going to naturally progress from being a punter on the dance floor to being behind the decks, such was his appetite and voracity for the music. With an ever growing collection of records it wasn’t long before he got some 1210’s, delved into learning the craft, honing his skills and playing alongside friends. Some of whom were, and still are, heavyweights in the scene today. He cut his teeth at the likes of Paradiso and Mercury Lounge alongside Dannyboy and Mr. Oz before holding his first residency at Terrace Bar for 4 years. It was here that he would come into his own and develop the sound he’s known for today. This is also where several club nights were born, his own High Calibre, and with the rise of Heylady, Back On Track. Both going from strength to strength. HAPE was soon a regular on club nights and outdoor party line ups all around the capital and further afield.   In recent times, HAPE continued to make a name for himself during a 4 year stint in Auckland where he ran monthly club night Pitch n’ Faders at Red Bar with old Terrace Bar cohort Matt Empyre. Together they also found a new space to continue the High Calibre club night, at Auckland’s ancestral home of house music, the infamous Ink Bar. HAPE continued to play across the city for some of the Auckland scene’s most loved and well respected club brands and venues before returning to the capital in 2018 where he has been a regular face behind the decks, most notably at Dirty Laundry alongside long time friend Mr. Oz.   From those early hedonistic nights in the plush surrounds of Wellington clubland to the gritty freedom that only a large outdoor rig can provide, HAPE is a through and through beat merchant with an absolute passion for storming any dance floor you give him. Constantly striving to both push himself and take the audience on a journey through dark vocal prog with lush servings of deep tribal tech and everything in between, it’ll always be infused with his own twist of high energy funk.

WUZA! ...Everything began in May 2016, when a mysterious island appeared among the clouds over Berlin's gloomy sky. Its mighty roots dug deep into concrete and soil, and down climbed a bunch of islanders on a mission: create places and spaces for music that radiates waves of sizzling joy, with a unique blend of deep technoid sounds that grab you by the guts and Downtempo sets that catapult your soul into a dimension of peacefulness.

Ever since that glorious day, people yearning for that state of mind have found their way to its roots, leading them all the way beyond the clouds, leaving all mundane worries behind and unlock their zen-mode through..WUZA.

Alternative Raketenbasen und Freiräume zum Gestalten von neuen Lebensentwürfen und Wirklichkeiten sind selten und werden quasi überall dringend benötigt. Orte, an denen Wellen brechen, ohne Schaum zu schlagen. Zeiten, die Herzen höher schlagen lassen, um Platz für neue Horizonte zu schaffen. Geteilte Gedanken und Proben aufs Exempel. Wo Scheitern noch als Tugend gilt und Unterschiede zu Gemeinsamkeiten werden, da sind wir zu Hause. Auf einem Floß aus Pflichtgefühl und Treibgut für flackernde Facetten und vogelfreie Wagnisse. 

Solange noch etwas Rum in der Flasche und ein paar Äpfel im Fass sind, kann die Reise weitergehen.

Moved to Florida in 1997 and heard my first electronic music.  I fell in love.  A couple years later I bought my first turntables and began teaching myself to DJ in my spare bedroom.  I went on to spin mostly Breaks/Breakbeats and sometimes hip hop/top40 if a club/bar demanded it.  Nearly 20 years later I have branched into mostly Progressive House and Melodic Techno.  Currently learning music production to begin sharing my own beats.  I hope you enjoy my mixes as much as I have enjoyed making them.  Much Love my friends!

Unser Berliner Kollektiv fand sich Anfang 2019 zusammen – seitdem durften und konnten die ‚Verteiler’ schon den einen oder anderen Fleck Erde Berlins in eine Plattform kulturellen Austauschs verwandeln. Wir sind davon überzeugt, dass Feiern immer das ist, was WIR draus machen. Im Spektrum der elektronischen Musik sehen wir mehr als ‚nur‘ Musik. In der Symbiose aus Räumlichkeiten, Stimmung und Gefühl sehen wir das Potenzial Menschen zueinander zu bringen und eine Ebene der harmonischen Kommunikation zu schaffen. Entsprechend vielseitige Beiträge finden sich innerhalb unserer Podcast Reihe wieder. Facettenreichtum liegt uns am Herzen und so ist uns ein Anliegen, NewcomerInnen aller Kunstrichtungen - sowohl innerhalb der Podcast-Reihe als auch im Rahmen unserer Veranstaltungen, eine Bühne zu geben.

About Joseph Disco :

Joseph Disco’s early education in beat science came as a resident DJ in Cologne’s legendary club Playground, where his regular opportunities to manipulate the dancefloor like a puppeteer quickly drew him into the sphere of music production. Shortly after returning to his native Munich in 2005, he released his first project on the label: Great Stuff Recordings, and later on labels like Stil vor Talent and Platform B, both as an solo artist and with different projects. With his name established amongst electronic aficionados, Joseph has gone on to entrench himself on the scene as a steadfast proliferator of high-quality works. Sporting an ever-growing cadre of solo releases and remix work on a multitude of labels, Joseph Disco has only given a tantalizing taste of his true potential.

He has played countless gigs in and out of Germany on clubs like:  KaterBlau ,Sisyphos, Wilde Renate, Rummelsbucht, Südpol, Club Charlotte and Hive in Zurich.
He has played Rave on Snow and the Berlin Loveparade, Fusion Festival , Wilde Möhre Festival, Praerie Festival , MoynMoyn Festival , Klangtherapy Festival, Off the Radar , Grüne Sonne and many more.
