Progressive Sessions: Volume 4 is finally here and this time, it’s deeply personal.

This mix marks my return to the decks after a 10-month break, and also looks ahead to my upcoming set at Trance Sanctuary @ Ministry of Sound, where I’ll be opening the newly refurbished 103 room this November with a deep progressive opening set.

Volume 4 blends everything I love about Deep, Melodic, and Progressive House & Trance, smooth grooves, deep atmospheres, and powerful emotional drive, with tracks from some of the scene’s finest including Rezident, Jody Wisternoff, PROFF, Qrion, Joseph Ray, Marsh, Cristoph, AVIRA, Elevven, Above & Beyond, and many more.

Vic Light is a Trance DJ with over 25 years of experience.

During this time, Vic has firmly established himself on the underground scene, having held residencies for Slinky and Remedy and having played for every major club night in the UK, including Godskitchen, Passion, GoodGreef,  Trance Sanctuary, Trancecoda, Xstatic and The Gallery, as well as holding several residencies in Ibiza and being privileged enough to play the main room opening set of the Cream Ibiza closing party @ Amnesia.

During this time, Vic has played directly before or after some of the biggest names in Trance, such as Paul van Dyk, John O'Callaghan, Simon Patterson, Bryan Kearney, John Askew, ReOrder, Menno De Jong, Sean Tyas, Dan Stone, Manuel Le Saux, Jordan Suckley, Ben Nicky, Solis & Truby, Genix, Giuseppe Ottaviani, Matt Hardwick, Judge Jules, Lisa Lashes, Mat Zo and many more, as well as supporting the likes of Armin van Buuren, Aly & Fila, Ferry Corsten, Eddie Halliwell and Sander van Doorn, amongst others.

Meet Frenz Cook, hailing from Amsterdam, the Netherlands. Drawn to the art of DJing by the rhythmic beats of dance music from the States and the UK in the 80s, my journey began with inspiration from illicit radio broadcasts in The Hague, Leiden, and Amsterdam. Transitioning from those clandestine beginnings, I eventually hosted my own Dance program on a local radio station.

In 1992, I embarked on my first DJ gig, immersing myself in the pulsating world of dance. From packed clubs hosting 900 visitors on weekends to a decade-long stint as a resident DJ, until 2009.

My hiatus lasted until 2016, the allure of my passion proved irresistible, prompting a return in 2017.

Currently, I blend vibrant summer house vibes with a techno edge, seamlessly incorporating deep house, soulful beats, deep funk, and the chill ambiance of beach house. Join me on various streaming platforms and catch my live performances at restaurants and, come summer, at a beach club here in the Netherlands.
