OMAKASE 001 (2024 Edition)

DAIN honed the craft of mixing at some of the most infamous clubbing institutions in New York City history - including main floor Saturday residencies at the Limelight (1999-2003) and Spirit/former Twilo (2003-2004), as well Avalon, The Tunnel, Exit2, Filter 14, Liquids, MK (now Highline Ballroom), Leopard Lounge, Le Souk, among many others. His uplifting deep/tech house sets could also be heard at every venue imaginable in Gotham the likes of Pacha NYC, ARC (formerly Vinyl), Sound Factory, Shelter, Centrofly, Discotheque, Opium Den, the Frying Pan, and more that would lead to playing sets across N. America, Asia and Europe - as far away as Tokyo, Osaka, Shanghai, London, Amsterdam & Dubai; including sets @ WMC, Burning Man, BPM Festival, & radio mixes for Proton, Frisky, and EDMRadio. Performing for hundreds to thousands of dedicated punters on a weekly basis helped him learn to read the crowd in any situation, but perfecting the art of opening utilizing record knowledge spanning across many genres remains a favorite specialty.

In the past, DAIN (as also one half of promotional/mgmt group Audio Elements), has worked with key nightlife figures & sponsors such as Landsdowne-Limelight Mgmt, international club brand Spirit, Ministry of Sound, Gatecrasher World Tour, Renaissance, Plexi PR, Collective Agency; as well as collaborations with labels such as Bedrock, Bonzai, Global Underground, Hooj Choons, Silver Planet, Tsunami, & Ultra Records. Due to the ability to cover a wide range of genres they have had the honor of individually, or as a duo to perform/work alongside some of the most respected names in dance music including: Diplo, Guy Gerber, Jozif, Lee Foss, Subb-an, Lee Curtiss, Guti, Tiesto, Armin, Ferry Corsten, Jimmy van M, Chris Fortier, Sean Cusick, Jody Wisternoff & Nick Warren (Way Out West), Breeder, James Holden, Anthony Pappa, Medway, Omid 16B, King of Spin, John "Quivver" Graham, Lee Coombs, Hernan Cattaneo, Hector "Choo Choo" Romero, Satoshi Tomiie, Junkie XL, Jeff Mills & Richie Hawtin Live, Hybrid Live and more. Most recently in NYC nightlife, he held the role of resident DJ, A&R, and programming for 3 years for world renowned Verboten (voted best new club in the world 2014); providing exposure and direct access in NYC to the biggest names in International Dance Music of the time such as Seth Troxler, Hot Natured w/ Jamie Jones & Lee Foss, Maya Jane Coles, Hot Since 82, Tale of Us, Art Department, Blond:ish, and more on a weekly basis. 10 years on and after a hiatus from nightlife, Dain is back on the decks and working on his first productions to be shared with the world!
