this song was pretty fun to make! i learned a few new mixing techniques between my last release and now so hopefully that makes this that much better. admittedly it might be a little loud but oh well, i couldn't be bothered to work on this more lmao. i have a habit of continuously making tiny mixing adjustments to a song that ultimately barely even matter - that's basically why papyrus encounter took 3 months (that, and i was lazy). what i really need to do is just make a bunch of songs with bad mixing cuz then it'll slowly become less bad as i get more experienced and maybe one day it'll even be good!!!

what happens when someone who doesn't know how to make dnb tries to make dnb? now we know.

so i started this on 6/27 and ran into a brick wall pretty early on. i originally wanted this to have to wacko genre-switching shenanigans but the problem is that i have absolutely no idea how to make speedcore or gabber or whatever the heck i was originally going for. in fact, the genres i do know how to make are pretty limited - something i'd like to remedy in the future, but probably when i have more time. anyways, i nearly gave up on this, but then i came back to it for some reason on 7/8 and tried continuing it in a slightly more standard dnb direction, to much more success. by 7/12 i thought it was done but then i realized something: the mixing is Ass. i fixed it to the best of my ability, but at the end of the day, mixing is still something i'm not particularly good at or fond of doing. it started to feel like my papyrus encounter cover all over again - making tiny, tedious adjustments that will barely matter in the grand scheme of things. i thought it would be best to just cut myself off now because don't really know what else to do for this and just sitting with my daw open while watching youtube isn't going to help. it's like i said in the description of my harderlovania cover: i just need to finish a lot of things with bad mixing because that will give me more experience than working on one thing forever and will help to make my mixing become "good" faster. plus the deadline for the contest this is for is tomorrow and i'd rather not find out the hard way that they meant that submissions close on the 14th instead of the 14th being the last day for submissions.

and about the thumbnail: i didnt feel like making sprites for this because spriting is not something i consider myself to be particularly good at, plus i dont really enjoy it as much as music. i still kinda wanted an actual thumbnail though so i whipped this up in imerge in like 15 minutes
