There is a principle that applies to business, physics, and life—it’s called “The Domino Effect.” This principle describes how one event can set off a chain reaction of related events. A great example of this is the atomic bomb, where one atom splitting causes an unstoppable chain reaction. The same concept applies spiritually. In The Sermon on the Mount, Jesus describes a spiritual domino effect that can transform our lives if we start with the right "first domino." Many people place financial success, personal happiness, fame, or power as their first priority, but Jesus tells us that the first domino should be this: “Seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well” (Matthew 6:33).

Kingdom life starts with you and affects the way you think, talk, do, and live. Just imagine how this world would look if everywhere there is darkness, it is replaced with light, love, and righteousness. Don’t we all want to see that?

Misty convinces Betty that being small ain’t all it’s cracked up to be. If Betty can help Misty break into the Queen’s heavily guarded vault, they might just be able to gain access to the Orb of Ogg. This legendary Orb has the potential to change Betty back to her original, stunning height. GOLLY GHERKINS! It’s not as if Misty Jamjar is a secret baddy or anything. And Betty isn’t going to accidentally become as tall as a massive giant. That would be ridiculous.

This week, we are looking at a passage that deals with a painful and unpleasant subject-DIVORCE. Most of us grew up during a time when people aspired to be married, be a good husband or a good wife, raise good children of faith and continue to obey God’s command to be fruitful and multiply.  Now, God’s standard is ridiculed and hardly anybody expects to be married forever.  Now, even children are divorcing parents!   God intended for marriage to be a lifelong monogamous relationship, but many today (even in the church) feel that is unrealistic!  If we get a divorce unbiblically, there’ll be no significant consequences, we’ll just remarry and do it all again!
“I have to do what’s best for me”…God doesn’t want me to be unhappy the rest of my life”…We create our own reality and version of His truth…We try to be God!  What does God think about divorce?  He hates it!  Malachi 2:16. God intended marriage for one man and one woman for life. Satan always goes for family and attacks the family by destroying marriages. But the homes were deteriorating 400 years before Jesus.  Mal 2:14 “Yahweh is a witness between you and the wife of your youth, to whom you have been faithless…your wife by covenant.”  2 schools of thought – Rabbi Hillel (liberal-broad) – divorce your wife for anything, citing Deut 24, “indecency.”  Rabbi Shammai (conservative-narrow)- only adultery. Do we want to follow God’s way to do marriage or man’s way.
