According to the Ninth Doctor, "mauve alert" was the universally recognised colour for danger, signifying the highest level of danger, as acknowledged by most species in the universe.

In fact, this is just my attempt to produce a loud, annoying alarm.  I need to be able to wake up to pages, and this is an attempt to create an alarm that will wake me under any conditions.
