Pop culture is funny. You can make such wonderful jokes with it that there is even a full-length program. Some of my people are true experts at it, and trig with the narrative to the extreme. Now we have arrived at the ghost rockets that are considered as norwegian mystery. We play a kind of eccentric fellow traveler of this genre for one evening and even have fancy aluminum ribbons. I enchant the guests as always with weird electronics, this time a kind of mutant disco and acid flutes. From my 4 hour set you hear at least just under 3, that's nice, isn't it?

This track was a big surprise for me. A dear friend of mine put this track together after a festival, inspired by the energy that was still present. When I heard it, I got down on my knees. I immediately tested it in a few small techno clubs and the reactions were more than good. "Donnerschlag" ("Thunderbolt") quickly became my secret weapon in techno sets.

Now this one is special. The new German wave was very diverse and the beginnings came from the roots of punk, but the idea was an evolutionary development. That excited the punks and that's why it was brilliant. Post-punk was basically an intelligent development, but without the snot and beer. Dadaism and nonsense were the order of the day, with undercooled synths and strange drums. In Germany, as in England, it was brilliant at the beginning, but later it was difficult to digest. We have remixed the first 4 delicacies for you and made them DJ-ready. Try it out with an audience that likes to experiment. People love that kind of thing.

Cosmic Disco is somehow unstoppable, there are always good productions coming my way, but my heart is still attached to the tracks from the 90s, which have such a different charm and with which I certainly associate a lot. There is music from groups that don't really need remixes because they are already perfect in themselves. For me, this includes The Orb. At the beginning of the 90s, it hit the zeitgeist. A logical development from the essence of Pink Floyd, Jean Michel Jarre and Kraftwerk. Alex Patterson and his various comrades-in-arms in The Orb project always hit the nail on the head. In over 30 years, they have constantly inspired me anew. This mashup is basically a clarification of where the well-known sample from “Blue Room” comes from and how many text passages from “The Creator” have also been sampled in other dance tracks.

Time shows that artists evolve. While nothing groundbreakingly new can really develop anymore, as pretty much everything has been there before, you can try to parody it in Mel Brooks style. With Phoneglow, Burial succeeds in paying homage to the mantra-like oaths of love from 90s Eurodance productions and takes this to excess. The good thing is: he can do it without looking cheap like bad CGI. My wife and I also like to parody, but this time we parodied the parody. Maybe someone understood the musical punchline.

I think people just love good disco music, especially in the 80s there were fun dance versions, mainly in vacation spots like Italy or Spain. They tried to copy the style of successful hits of the time in order to produce something like a follow-up hit themselves. It's clear that it all sounds cheesy, but that's exactly the genius of it. Many songs have been completely forgotten, but my mission is to reanimate these gems and associate them with a theme party. That's fun! And people celebrate it big!
