"What took you so long?"

All emotions are OK, Sadness included. It is how we react to or feed the emotions which makes all the difference, and often acknowledging and accepting the emotion is the first important step to move on. With the track starting sad and dark, we go through the acceptance and partial release, to come back into the less dark now accepted sadness

Album - Due Out Feb 2021. 
‘Caught in the Crossfire’ is the 2nd single from the forthcoming (recorded in Lockdown) 3rd studio album and is FFO Gregory Alan Isakov, Sufjan Stevens and Devendra Banhart. This album was recorded during this lockdown period 2019 #ClassofAWAL/TGE supported artist Michael Baker has been in the same house as long time friend & Lucy Rose Multi-Instrumentalist and band member Andrew Stuart Buttle. They have used this period to write, record & produce a 10 track album, the Album is mixed by ‘Aldous Harding credited Oliver Baldwin and is the follow up to 8.9 out of 10 Atwood reviewed sophomore album ‘Salt’ which was only released in March this year, a testimony to how prolific Michael is an artist and songwriter and he has already been in to record album 4 with Luke Potashnick (Tom the Lion, Alberta Cross) due out early 2021

Michael says on this track;
‘’Sitting in lockdown thinking how can anything be so hard, so easy, so incredibly sad and so fucking beautiful.As with most of my songs I wrote it feeling sad and looking to the light. I sat up in bed just before sleeping and the whole thing came out in one go. The next day i recorded the whole thing down pretty much as you hear it on the record. For the piano part i wanted to take musicality out of it, so with my hands on the right notes i actually blindfolded myself and felt my way through the track.’’
 
‘’It’s about being caught up in it all obviously and about how one moment of kindness spreads like the roots of a tree… & that colour can change your view and make you look out differently. 
‘you can paint it red, i can paint it blue, these colours change the view.’ The album created is my favourite I’ve done so far & i cant wait to get it out into the world.’’

Twin Suns

This track started out as just playing a random chord on a vibraphone patch with an arpeggiator on, but by adding strings, bass, and many different textures, VoidHeart became something I didn't know I could even create. It's been stuck on my hard drive for awhile now so I'm happy I can share it and let it breath.
