I'm John, a DnB DJ from Edinburgh, Scotland. I first properly got into mixing around 2017 shortly before I sold up, moved into a van and started working on the festival circuit climbing stuff and building stages. I can occasionally be found underground in a tunnel or bunker playing music really loudly to to a bunch of Urban Explorers - a tradition we continued through COVID, with the Lockdown Sessions - a twice-weekly livestream which often resulted in me playing last and continuing mixing until I dropped, usually 7-8hrs later! 
These days there's still nothing I like more than finding a cool location and dragging a sound system into it for people to enjoy!

Born in Mexico’s sonic tapestry and electrified by Northern Europe’s underground scene, RUIX is a self-taught pianist and electronic music producer whose artistry transcends genres. Rooted in a lifelong passion for music he found a deeper sense of purpose and connection through underground electronic music. In the true spirit of rave he believes the dancefloor is a sacred space where differences dissolve, and people reconnect with their shared humanity. On the topic of the dancefloor he says: “In the dancefloor, we’re all the same, It’s a place to play like we did as kids, to see our similarities instead of our differences, and to build a more harmonious and collaborative society.”

With a large variety of beats in the Bandolier his sets are crafted as wide-spectrum sonic journeys that explore diverse moods, rhythms, and grooves. From warm euphoria and hypnotic trance-inducing percussions to funky, driving beats, his music invites listeners to experience a dynamic flow of emotions. With each performance, RUIX creates an inclusive atmosphere where the music becomes a medium for connection and co-creation. 

As co-founder and part of the HBDC collective (Happy Birthday Collective), RUIX has been instrumental in curating unique daytime raves in the Swedish forests during summer. These events bring people together to dance under the open sky, fostering a sense of community and shared creativity. “These gatherings are more than just parties—they’re transformative experiences where people connect deeply with music, nature, and each other.”.
