勘違いされそうな気もするけど、懐古主義のようなことでもないと思う。自分にとってストレスが少なく、気楽に楽しくやれる制作環境が他にあるんじゃないかと思った。コンピューターベースの制作環境が主流ではあるが、度々バグに見舞われることや線の細い音でレコーディングされることに不満を感じていた。もちろん使うモデルによっていいものもあるだろけど、コンピューターベースの音源制作環境でやっている人たち全般に感じていることでもあった。自分の思い込みなのかもしれないが「これが今の世の中、当たり前だ」と思い込むことで、考えなくなったり試みることをしなくなる人が多いように感じている。そういった全体的な社会の流れのようなものと、音楽の世界も無関係なわけはなく、作る音楽の「音色」に強く表れているんじゃないかと。自分の好きなことや、多数派の方法をとても良いことだと思い込んで発想が貧しくなっていく。チャレンジをやめることで自分の考えに大きな偏りができ、バランスを失っていることに、自ら気がづけない。人の言動を見て何かを感じ取り、自分自身に説教をしているようでもある、合わせ鏡のように。今回の曲の内容としては、これまでと大して変わらない。笑。道具が大きく変わった。曲ができてから最終工程まで辿り着くのに、ちょっと間が空いてしまったので、作った時の気持ちや細かいことは忘れてしまった。コンピューターに慣れきってしまっているので、もっと戸惑うことが多いと思っていた。でも、そうでもなかった。コンピューターはこれからも使うことになるけど、使い方を変えて距離を取ろうと。基本的には「マスターレコーダー」のような扱いかもしれない。「Tascam Model 24」という機材は大雑把に言うと「アナログミキサー」「デジタルマルチトラックレコーダー」「オーディオインタフェイス」この3つの機能が合わさったもの。MIDIもないしクリックもないので、その類のものと決別するような気持ちがないとやっていけない、大袈裟だけど。でも自分なりに「音源作品の魅力」とか「音楽とは」といったようなことに想いを巡らせてみると「本当はこれでもいけるだろ！コンピューターじゃなくても！」という結論…..今のところは。道具としては大きな路線変更ではある。ただ、この環境の方が自分にとって都合がいいことが多い。一番は「余計なことに気を取られず安心してギターの練習ができること」かなぁ。

An artist, poet, Jazzbo. I am Lord Skei. I write music and lyrics, Other than that I paint mainly portraits, write books, and travel. I sing and play guitar in the gang, the Lads take care of the rest. We’re just in the process of publishing and distributing a streaming/download album. ‘New York kind of Love’ is the title. It’s the title of one of the three tunes included on the album. Now the tunes are mastered in London and I will post them here for all to enjoy. The distributor/publisher distributes to some 150 sites but not here, so that will not create conflict. This is why I took the tunes down, for mastering and such. Now they sound incredibly good.
