Domenic’s new release, Floating Away is an instrumental piece featuring Cretan Laouto, Native American flutes, voice and percussion. He is currently working on several recordings projects, one of which will feature this song along with other pieces written on the Cretan Laouto and accompanied with Native American flutes, voice and a selection of other instruments. It is currently available across all streaming platforms.
In 2024, Domenic released a song entitled, Red Sky on the Horizon, the first in a series of songs featuring Cretan Laouto, Native American flutes and voice. The song is inspired by the big sky in his homeland of Canada. He toured with the internationally acclaimed group, Bamboo, Cedar, Oak as well as performed dates with his trio, Seeds of Evergreen. During 2023, he promoted his most recent album entitled, Earth to Sky, through a series of live performances. The album’s collection of instrumental pieces features Native American flutes that were recorded over many years both in Canada and the UK. They were inspired by the beauty of this world we share and our connection with the land, the sea, the sky & the air. This followed a successful release of the album Never Letting Go in 2021, a singer-songwriter based acoustic album
Domenic DeCicco is an acclaimed multi-instrumentalist, vocalist and composer/producer, who has travelled the world sharing his music as a solo artist and as co-founder/lead vocalist of the innovative acoustic roots band, Praying for the Rain. He is a deeply soulful and compelling musician and storyteller who brings a rich, uncluttered quality to his music that fills his songs with evocative imagery and lyrical narrative.
Through his experiences of performing and traveling, he has learned to play a variety of eclectic instruments such as Native American flutes & hand drums, African drums & percussion, middle eastern Darabouka and Ghatam, Cretan Laouto & Outi, the Madura (reeded flute) to name a few. He has travelled throughout Europe, Canada, Africa, and the Middle East and has performed at festivals such as Glastonbury, Womad, Trowbridge Pump, Stainsby, Frome, Colourscape, at the famous Spiegeltent during the Islington International festival and at London’s Union Chapel and South Bank as part of a world music series presented by the National Theatre.
