Más entrevistas and y'all already know what's happening! On today's very special episode of Songmess, we sat down to speak with Mexican producer Santos, one of the core members of Tijuana's revolutionary Ruidosón scene. 

For the uninitiated, Ruidosón started as a seasonal party but soon evolved into a musical genre and full fledged scene colliding traditional Mexican and Latin American rhythms with electronica, noise and sheer madness. The end product is often filled with satire and criticism, but without ever compromising Ruidosón's playful danceable nature.

Sitting with one of the godfather's of Ruidosón for this interview was a real treat, and we get to discuss everything from the local Tijuana scene, to some of Santos' favorite producers, as well as his latest album, Agonía. Darkness falls across the land and a new episode of Songmess is close at hand… If you want to hear Richard be really star struck, you’re in luck, because on today’s very special episode we are joined by Tijuana’s queen of goth, Dani Shivers.

A cult figure of Mexico’s indie underground, Dani Shivers is best known for melding spooky, horror film aesthetics with hazy Casio synths to surprisingly catchy effect. Her first album, 2013’s “Jynx,” is a Latin goth landmark and she has since released a string of singles and EPs, with a new album expected to drop before the end of the year.

Our conversation with Dani Shivers covers a lot of ground, ranging from childhood ghost stories, to her time at the Redbull Music Academy, her current stint at veterinary school and an upcoming performance at Mexicali's Celsius Festival, this September. Dani will also be performing this Saturday July 28th at Foro Centro de Salud in Mexico City, so if you are in the area, make sure to come out and support this beautiful ghoul.

On today’s very special episode of Songmess we are joined by Chilean musical chameleon, Oddó. The prolific singer-songwriter, producer and multi-instrumentalist has paved a unique path in Chilean’s ever green indie scene, adept at genre hoping like few of his contemporaries.

Ismael Oddó has been in the game for nearly 15 years, first as a bassist for Chilean indie rock band Alamedas, then as a touring musician for Francisca Valenzuela and most recently as his own constantly-evolving solo project. Our conversation with Oddó touches on his musical trajectory, his controversial sonic shifts from rock to synth pop, reggaeton and dembow, and the current state of Chile’s vibrant and competitive music industry. The playlist is filled with equally unexpected choices, - a reminder Oddó is beyond conventional categorization.
