In Lee-Ann Roberts’ hands, even the hardest techno can have subtlety and soul. The Amsterdam-based, SouthAfrican-born artist has become a prominent force in the global techno scene thanks to her fierce determination and vibrant creative touch. She leads with her own NowNow label – a self-reliant platform which nods to the South African colloquialism meaning ‘soon’, a call to surrender to the moment and follow where the music takes you.

It’s a mantra she’s lived by as her career has sharply risen, debuting on Spanish label Suara with ‘Miyamoto’ and instantly scoring number two on Beatport’s Hard Techno chart. She’s simultaneously been growing NowNow with her own productions dropping alongside remixes from verified legends like D.A.V.E. The Drummer, Jay Clarke and Dense & Pika.

Roberts’ first break came via her own show on Cape Town’s Mutha FM before she travelled to LA and found a home at legendary Hollywood nightclub AVALON. From Secret Solstice in Iceland to Caprices Festival, BPM alongside Jeff Mills, DGTL and Verknipt in Amsterdam to countless other gigs across the world, Roberts has continually progressed, road-testing her tracks in the pressure-cooker situations she finds herself in every weekend.

The vitality in Roberts’ sound undoubtedly comes from her broad outlook, inspired as much by the revolutionary misfits of rock as the visionary pioneers of electronic music. Her attraction to unusual and distinctive qualities in the music she makes and plays all add up to one of the most exciting forces in contemporary techno – a commanding presence that demands your full attention.

Premiere: SMU - Keep Moving Forward [NowNow Records]

Over fifteen impressive releases into its existence, Amsterdam-based, South African-born artist Lee Ann Roberts' NowNow label continues to go from strength to strength with a relentless flow of breakneck Hard Dance offerings from some of the genre's brightest stars. The label's next release welcomes rising Irish star SMU for his NowNow debut with 3 original tracks on 'Keep Moving Forward'. The release is a blistering trio of original cuts bolstered by remixes from fellow Irishman Revoxx, Perpignan-based Klimax 82 and label head Lee Ann Roberts. 

'Active Shooter' kicks in the door to the EP, hitting you head-on with a fusion of rippling Psytrance, thrilling Breaks and potent Hardstyle nuances. Building around high-octane grooves and savage sirens, it's an undeniably head-turning signal of intent for the rest of the release. 'Energy' is next in line, bringing another fast-paced amalgam of Hard Dance subgenre goodness crafted from sinister synths, furious percussive drive, a catchy vocal hook and massive, climatic transitions. The title cut 'Keep Moving Forward' is the last of three originals from SMU, cutting a slightly different musical line to its predecessors. Slower in pace to its counterparts, it carries a potent core of thumping, driven drums and raucous hat grooves, orbited by cinematic pads, rave synths and an iconic vocal that leads into several piano-laced, happy hardcore-esque throwdowns.

Lee Ann Roberts' reimagination of 'Energy' leads the way with the remixes, putting a sinister spin on the original with screeching synth lines and an unrelenting tide of peaks and troughs to keep the dancefloor on its toes from start to finish. Revoxx's remix of 'Active Shooter' is next up, adding even more weight to the original whilst cleverly manipulating several vital elements to carve out an impressive peak-time stomper. Klimax 82's rework of 'Energy' rounds off the release with another captivating niche re-do, delivering an intriguing blend of Happy Hardcore, Psytrance, Hard Techno and everything in between.

Born on August 17, 1998, in Rome, PISAPIA has rapidly established himself as a leading figure in the global neo-rave and hard techno scenes. Known for his relentless energy, industrial textures, and emotionally charged sets, he’s earned a reputation for pushing boundaries without compromise.

Following the breakout success of “Hybrid Boom” in 2023, PISAPIA returned in 2025 with “Hybrid Boom V.2” on the No Mercy label—an intense, suspense-filled track marked by haunting vocals, sweeping synths, and a ferocious drop designed for peak-time rave chaos. The release reaffirmed his reputation as an innovator and cemented his place at the forefront of modern techno.

PISAPIA’s signature sound has attracted releases on respected labels such as 9X9, Etruria Beat, Taapion, and Pushmaster Discs. His work continues to earn support from genre heavyweights including Amelie Lens, Nico Moreno, SHLOMO, and Lee Ann Roberts. 

The year has already seen PISAPIA deliver standout performances at major events worldwide, including a landmark set at CODE 166 at Madrid’s iconic Fabrik, where he played alongside legends like Richie Hawtin and Ben Sims. Amelie Lens has taken the techno scene to another level, with her unrelenting passion for the genre, with a strong message that she always was, and always will be a raver at heart.

Amelie‘s debut release in 2016 marked the beginning of her distinguished career. Since then, she has released music on many of the industry‘s leading labels and contributed to the prestigious Global Underground City mix series. Amelie is a regular headliner at major festivals such as Awakenings, Sonar, Timewarp, and Tomorrowland’s mainstage. Additionally, she performs at renowned club venues across the globe.

Fast forward to 2024 and Amelie is heading her labels Lenske and EXHALE Records, running her party series EXHALE, holds down an extensive touring schedule and hosts her own radio show. The show now streams online and broadcasts on 34 radio stations across the globe, reaching nearly 5 million listeners with every episode.

Amelie has been focused on her signature sound, emphasised by the use of her own vocals. She wants to capture audiences that may not always be there for techno but feel connected after discovering something new.
