I started this song the day I got the news that my mother died in '22 as I sat in the front seat of our RV, which was my office, when we were not on the road. It originally was extremely long and sad. I had a lot to say. I worked on it for a few weeks, but I couldn’t continue it. I couldn't deal with the feelings behind it. I later tried to pick it up again, but then our family Chihuahua "Memphis" died and shortly later my coworker/friends/family also died. Finally this last month of April I was able to complete it. Every part of it has meaning.

Now I See

Life doesn’t always go how we plan. Sometimes we need to embrace change and take the lessons learned from our past, knowing that we have love around us.

When everything seemed scary and out of control, I held on to my best friend's advice to ‘allow things to unfold’ even when things seemed impossible. Maybe this is your sign that it is time to surrender, to take a leap of faith and trust in life’s flow and a bigger plan.

Driving home in the middle of the night, the city lights wash past us, and the heat echoes. Leaving it all behind, although it was never really there to begin with. Hope and loss spin about us like fire dancers, and brighter worlds shine brilliantly before us as the memory of day passes into the night. There may still be a long way to go, but we're almost home, and it's gonna be beautiful.

This will be a life lesson I carry with me forever, but I’m open to embracing it, practicing it, and looking for evidence of it everywhere. (When we pay attention, it's everywhere.)
