I decided to make a mix of one of my favourite 90s pop-house songs, Cathy Dennis' 'Touch Me (All Night Long)' - or 'All Night Long (Touch Me)' for purists. Used the bass from Kylie Minogue's 'Tension (Chromeo Mix)', and a mix of keyboards/synths/strings from Ultra Nate's 'Brass in Pocket (C-Dock Style Mix)', Madonna's 'Erotica (Underground Club Mix)', and Lisa Stansfield's 'Set Your Loving Free'.

I love this Sam Sparro track in it's original version where it's more R&B leaning. Here, I made it clubby. Drums and percussion from Madonna's 'Vogue', strings and other instrumentation from Lisa Stansfield's 'You Can't Deny It', bass from Brand New Heavies' 'Crying Water'.

I have always had an appreciation for Jomanda. Their first album was dance focused and their sophomore album was more R&B focused. This song is taken from that album. In its original form, it's up-tempo R&B. Samples I used: bass from En Vogue's 'You Don't Have to Worry (Club Remix)', strings and horns from Lisa Stansfield's 'The Real Thing', piano from Ultra Nate's 'Survivor', organ from David Morales' 'Respect (Classic Mix).

I tried mixing this song as a dance track and I wasn't digging it. The idea of using that quasi-ubiquitous early 90s drum beat commonly heard by Soul II Soul and Lisa Stansfield (among others) seemed like a fun idea so I went with it. Track is not being monetized.

'Suzanne' is one of the most stunning songs on Lisa Stansfield's eponymous album from 1997. I hadn't intended on making this stunning ballad about domestic abuse (I know) into such a dance song (it kind of takes away from the message) but this is where it ended up.

Anyone who knows me, knows I am a massive Lisa Stansfield fan. This is the fourth mix of a song of hers I've done. In its original form, 'The Real Thing' is an upbeat, pop/R&B track from her eponymous 1997 album. There are several dance mixes of the track in existence - here's another. With Chris DC, he was also the joint visionary behind Baked Soul, the elite soulful house music brand, with regular shows on SSRadio and DJ sets at club nights alongside the likes of house music legends Soul Central, Grant Nelson and Natasha Watts. A classically trained musician, his undying passion for music fueled remixes through the noughties under reputed labels like SoulHeat, Daddy Funk, and Mutated Music. Nate's productions have been played out at the likes of Pacha Ibiza and Radio 1Xtra, with nods from Richard Earnshaw, Rasmus Faber, and a slew of industry heavyweights. Now, after a ten year hiatus, Nate is finally back in the studio and remixing the classics.
