Hey all! Here's a new music thing I recently finished up. Been on a City Pop kick lately, I've wanted to do another City Pop thing since I've done Summertime Fun for the Synthy Innovations album. I had a great time making this, and very happy with the final result.

Starlight Path

A few months ago, Cherry Audio released a VST called Mercury-6, a faithful recreation of the Roland Jupiter-6 Analog Synthesizer. While the Jup-6 is famous to Thomas fans, it wasn't nearly as beloved by musicians as the more famous Jupiter-8, so I was skeptical that someone would make a VST of it. Sometimes it's good to be wrong!

I got the Mercury a few months ago, and have been working on recreating S1-2 instruments ever since. I decided to give the Breakdown Train theme another go, using my custom made strings sounds and xylophone mod, as well as a bass synth made by Kristian (Wisteria Bird Studios). This theme has always been iconic, with the heavy strings and the constant rimshot beat pitched down to replicate the clunking of a crane wench. Enjoy this recreation!

The Breakdown Train Theme - Season 1. T&TBDT Variant

Hey all! Here's a synthy remix I've done a while back but never released it, till now.

This music piece comes from a tv show that I remember watching back in the late 2000s via YouTube called Mio Mao. And recently I decided to watch the show again, and remembered loving the cheerful sounding theme tune so much that I decided to have a go at it. 

Super happy with how it all came out and everything.

Edward's Danger Theme - Season 2

I know I made Edward;s S2 theme recently but I was never really satisfied with how it turned out. Felt like all the sounds clashed against one another. Now, with the Mercury-6 vst (and wonderful dubbing tracks for reference provided by Oliver11GWR) I decided to have another go, and I am completely satisfied with this version. Hope you enjoy as well!

This is dedicated to Britt Allcroft, the woman who brought the Railway Series to the TV Screen. God rest her soul.

One of my earliest memories of watching Thomas as a kid was with the "Thomas and HIs Friends Help Out" VHS, which started off with the episode "Edward and Gordon." Edward's theme has always stuck with me, with it having a very cheerful melody on a beepy synth trumpet and a rather conservatively grand backing section from nice synth strings and flutes. Obviously this isn't the first variant heard, but it was used twice throughout the episode and was heard many times after, even up until Season 3

When I had heard the news of Britt's passing, I promised myself to put something out in her honor. Edward is genuinely my favorite character in the whole show and his theme is one of my absolute favorites, no matter what version you go with. I hope you all enjoy this recreation of his S1 theme, and may the woman that brought us all together through her creation rest in peace.
