I’ve written a lot of super depressing music in the last few months, but this song is not one of those endeavours. This song is a homage to the lush Australian outdoor party, where people slip into bizarre caricatures of themselves. Elemental bogans, essential Aussies, cooked mates, trashy babes – all united under a philosophy of love, support and joy. I’ve been enjoying parties like this for over 10 years… and for the majority of those parties found myself awestruck by the underlying vibe that the scene bares deep in its foundations. This song magnifies the happy-go-lucky, sharing, caring nature of the great people that you’ll find on dancefloors across the country and that feeling of freedom gained from a close proximity to them.

Casual Affection

Just after graduating university, I found myself living in a shed at the misso’s sharehouse. I wrote this track for Earth Frequency 2020, which little did i know, would be the last open air festival before covid restrictions really kicked in. It’s been a work in progress ever since that festival, until now… that i've decided to let this baby fly!
