The Illumin8tives is band from the home of the voting rights movement and one of the primary caldrons of civil rights activity in the Sixties, Selma, Alabama.  The band's music reflects the city’s conflicting legacies of victory and struggle, regression and redemption, order and chaos, and darkness and light.  As the city’s history is a tale of two cities, the group’s identity and music is as well.
