When sitting down to recreate this cue from Mission: Impossible Fallout by Lorne Balfe (https://www.youtube.com/@lornebalfe), I had one specific goal in mind:

No plugins!

I love this score because it is so dense... I forget how many horns Lorne said he was using here, but it was waaaay more than 4.  So I enjoyed being able to really layer lots of libraries together here to attempt his "massive" sound.  While not perfect, I still feel like I get really close with basically my ears and some radical EQ'ing.

How did the "no plugin challenge" go...?  Well, there are plugins at play in the final mix here, but there is considerably LESS processing going on that in any of my other tracks -- that is to say, hardly any at all.

Anyway -- this is a banger -- play it loud while you're racing around the streets of Paris, or wherever you reside.  Thanks as always for listening, and your support and feedback!

His Dark Materials Theme Music

Lorne Balfe does some amazing compositions for the Wheel of Time soundtrack, and I'm a big fan. This is a flute cover of one of the songs from the Wheel of Time Soundtrack, "Al'Naito"

I listened to the song and then arranged and played some Percussion, Strings, Oboe, Piano, Harp, and French Horn. Then I played the two flute parts and piccolo part and...I'm obsessed with how it turned out.
