TURN ME UP

House pioneer Louie Vega originally collaborated with Detroit maverick Moodymann on 'Seven Mile' back in 2022 for his ‘Expansions in The NYC’ album. The original single is included here in a short version, along with a gorgeously jazzy Louie Instrumental Demo, and a superb selection of remixes from some of dance music's most vital names.

Dutchman Dennis Quin is a house champion with credits on labels like Defected, Madhouse Records, and PIV. His remix is a kicking house workout, with Moodymann's vocals weaving through the mix, adding smoky soul. These are then stripped away for a more raw instrumental version. Frenchman Rocco Rodamaal is a veteran of the scene for over 20 years, having played all over the world and is a major player in deep house. His Deep Down Mix has been a big hit on global dance floors for Louie already and carefully cooks up a grand, hypnotic sound that consumes the crowd and locks them into its absorbing grooves. Next is Kai Alce, another deep and soulful master who heads up NDATL from his base in Atlanta. His remix is a bumping one with stiﬀ snares and a growling low end that's lit up by sophisticated chords that glow bright and with inescapable warmth.

Rodamaal then works with Parisian producer Alex Finkin on a remix which centres on cosmic and twinkling melodies and spiritual synth lines that weave in and out of Moodyman's musings. Rocco then goes solo on "Bubbly Dubby Mix" with neat chord loops and textured shakers, before oﬀering a pared-down instrumental. Next is Charlie from Soul Clap, the Boston duo famous for their loved-up e-funk sound. His remix is the most direct of the package with chunky drums lit up by prickly synths and meandering jazzy leads that speak to the soul. His Wild Remix turns everything up a notch with more unhinged synths and raucous drums, closing out an essential EP that features cultured house sounds for every moment of the night.

I'm trying hard to get to New York's (Sony Hall) this Saturday June 7th to hear the iconic collective: "The Elements of Life" as part of this years Blue Note Jazz Festival. EOL has been a staple in my and many other Soulful House DJ's record collections over the years. I probably have everything that they have put out. They are a throwback band of sorts playing their soulful dance music with incredible singers and musicians like: Josh Milan, Lisa Fischer, Jose Manual Jr., Luisto Quintero, Cindy Mizelle, Dawn Tillman, Anna Vega, Raul Midon and others. All produced, arranged and conducted by the maestro himself, Mr. Louie Vega. Man, listen! These guys have hits on top of hits, as a matter of fact they literally have house music "anthems" in their creative catalog. So until the concert this weekend... Let's just Dance!!!

The 25 year old 'Southport Weekender' event is the premier soul music weekender! Held at the Butlin's Holiday Resort in Bognor it hosts a world class line up of artists and DJ's covering the whole spectrum of classic and contemporary soulful sounds. Born In NYC and was given the best gift ever. The Power of Music. Grew up in Union City Nj. Which was 5 min ride to NYC. During the 80's we had the best Music. I was given the blessing of listening to House, Salsa, Freestyle,Hip Hop, High Energy,Disco.I was Lucky enough to learn how to Dj with classmates and some friends. I had many different opportunities to also learn from some great Dj's from Little louie Vega, Kenny Dope Gonzalez, Red Alert, Eric Morillo, & Tony Humphries who i worked for under The Record Label Yellorange Records. Then of course was the clubs, 1018, Red Zones, Mars, The World,The Loft,The Palladium,The Underground so many to name. I also lived in Germany for 5 years playing anywhere and to any who was willing to listen. I always try to play music a different way and put my own spin on some tracks. It was 1980 in Detroit Michigan where I first fell in Love with this Music. I was 13 years old and the Music of Choice for Me and my Friends was Progressive Dance Music. We didn't know it at the time but We were actually creating a Musical Lifestyle of sorts that would follow many of us the rest of our lives.

Sure there would be periods when no music was bought and no new mixes were produced, but time would go by and before you knew it This Music Thing would just Grab hold to Me again...

In 2012 My Musical Journey started again! This dance music would prompt me to start mixing on the web via my YouTube Channel with over 45K followers, and Soundcloud with over 5K and counting... This music would even take me around the U.S and as far away as Beijing China to DJ (Twice). I'm  really excited now more than ever because I am are currently living in Miami and DJing at my residency at N'Namdi Contemporary Gallery.

Julien sur le plan généraliste 🎭 Minh en soirées underground (mon prénom vietnamien).

Passionné de musique depuis 2005 (depuis mes premiers souvenirs) grâce à un père DJ et à une famille de musiciens, j'ai touché de nombreux instruments dans mon enfance comme la guitare, le piano ou même le violon et c'est avec l'UCPA Ecole Des DJ de Lyon que j'ai pu commencer à vivre de ma passion à partir de 2023 ainsi qu'à affiner mon style grâce à de nombreuses rencontres avec de grands DJs. J'en ai aussi été diplômé en finissant sur le podium au sein de l'AMS 68 en 2025.

Musicalement parlant, mon univers tourne autour de la Deep House, la Micro House, la Minimale House et la House ainsi que ce avec quoi j'ai commencé : La House old school (90-00) et surtout la French Touch. Mon père m'ayant fait découvrir la musique électronique dès ma naissance c'est avec logique que je me suis orienté vers ce style. 

Ayant un certain nombre de mariages, d'anniversaires et d'événements d'entreprises aux platines je me suis tourné vers la musique généraliste dans le monde professionnel et je suis en train en même temps de me diriger vers des soirées plus "Underground" avec le côté Minh d'où l'existence de ce SoundCloud.

Je vous souhaite à tous un bon voyage à travers mon univers musical !
