In Luke 13, Jesus shares the parable of the barren fig tree, a profound lesson on God’s patience and mercy. A man had a fig tree that hadn’t borne fruit for three years, and in his frustration, he ordered it to be cut down. However, the compassionate gardener pleaded for one more year, promising to nurture and care for the tree in hopes that it would finally bear fruit. This parable reminds us that God’s grace provides us with opportunities to grow and transform. It calls us to reflect on our spiritual lives, urging us to make the most of the time and grace given to us by God. Are we bearing fruit, or are we stagnant?
