Heretical OST 07 - The Ascent Awaits

Music for the Matron Amara boss battle in the video game Heretical by Three Swords Studio. 

It is composed in reference to the baroque form of the gigue, written in a 6/8 meter, instilling a sense of dance during the battle within a spherical arena.

Heretical OST 06 - Amara's Gigue

Music for the First Crossing of the bridge in the video game Heretical by Three Swords Studio. 

Dynamically composed and implemented in order to support the in-game dialogue and event progression, it provides the emotional backdrop to the first venture into the Forsaken Settlement, emphasizing the appearance of the Heretical main title screen, and the start of the first actual run of the game. It also serves as the resolution of the first large segment of Heretical's music design, starting with the Main Menu theme.

Heretical OST 05 - The First Crossing

Music for the Undying Champion boss battle in the video game Heretical by Three Swords Studio. 

Relying heavily on war drums and a steady, marching rhythm, it references the gladiatorial nature of the starting area's boss. It is dynamically composed and implemented to match the different phases of the battle, with a reference to the main Heretical theme at the climax of the encounter.

Heretical OST 04 - The Beginning of the End

Music for the Sanctuary of the Forlorn - the starting are of the video game Heretical by Three Swords Studio. 

Composed as background music, it is designed as a set of harmonically meandering and dynamically unobtrusive swells, with no transient or overly explicit features. The swells are randomly shuffled between each other as to provide some sense of unpredictability in the final experience. This version is edited for linear listening, with the volume adjusted accordingly.

Heretical OST 03 - The Uncleansed Sanctuary

Continual music for The Campsite, the Main Menu area of the video game Heretical by Three Swords Studio. 

Part of a two-cue design for the Main Menu area of the game, meant to play before and after an appearance of the main Heretical theme. It welcomes the player upon starting the game, switching to the main theme after a key press, only to appear again after one playthrough of the more concrete and explicit Heretical theme.

Heretical OST 02 - The Campsite

The main musical theme for the video game Heretical by Three Swords Studio. 

This piece sets the overall feeling and musical vocabulary for the game as a whole, placing it within a pan-European setting, and mostly relying on various elements from the medieval, renaissance and baroque periods in terms of time-and-period-specific instrumentation, form, harmonic and melodic structure, as well as a more contemporary relationship towards orchestral arrangement. 

It also presents the main melodic theme of the game, referenced throughout other key points in the soundtrack, linking later stages of the game to this initial question, a dialogue between a sense of decay and hopelessness, and an urge to carry on.
