Chapter 84

Welcome to my latest Live mix from Cyberdog - recorded on the 6th May at the famous Cyberdog store in Camden, London.
This is a mix of classic trance reworks sprinkled with some melodic techno.
Cyberdog is a bit unique in that customers in the shop dont stay for  long but really enjoy listening to familiar bouncy tunes, so I try and keep the vibe going right from the start. This time I wanted to play techno as well as trance so I mashed the two together throughout the mix  :D 
Was fun to play and fun to watch the crowds dancing.

Made Of Light - Where the Day Has Its End [Phoenix Recordings - NIX313]

Matteo aka Melodyman (composer) and Claudio aka Claudio csc (DJ and producer) make music together since they were kids. They grew up together evolving musically passing from Italo Dance to Techno. The first records came out under the project name "Dejoint" with which they produced several commercial dance songs of considerable gratification. Subsequently they produced several songs under the moniker "Progressive Orchestra" and then in 2008 created their new project "Made Of Light".

Their Uplifting Trance track is the label debut of the two Italian talents and also the very last Phoenix Recordings release of the year 2023. We wish everyone a happy new year and an even better start into the new one.

Made Of Light - The Last of the Mohicans [#WeAreTrance - #WAT112]

#WeAreTrance (Switzerland) presents an "out-of-the-ordinary" treat by Italian combo MADE OF LIGHT. Their powerful mystic adaptation of Trevor Jones' 1992 movie score theme THE LAST OF THE MOHICANS comes in an "offbeat triplets" style, which is unusual to the commonly used 4/4 beat in EDM.

Matteo and Claudio return to Joyride Music after their Phoenix Recordings' Vocal Trance release "Where the Day Has Its End" and other offerings on labels such as Suanda, Future Sequence, Abora, Redux, Nocturnal Knights, State Control and many others.

Evolving musically, passing from Italo Dance to Techno, the first records came out under the project name "Dejoint" with which they produced commercial dance songs of considerable gratification. Italy based combo MADE OF LIGHT teams up with Canadian singer/songwriter ZARA TAYLOR for their Vocal Trance collaboration JUST A FOOL, presented by Phoenix Recordings.

Following their previous label output "Where the Day Has Its End" and the #WeAreTrance (Switzerland) release "The Last of the Mohicans", the two Italian sound and melody talents return to the Joyride Music family with yet another mindblowing song.

Hailing from British Columbia, Canada, "Just a Fool" was written and vocalized by the lovely Zara Taylor, a celebrated chart-topping vocalist with a global footprint. Her ethereal vocals have been the heartbeat of the global EDM scene for over two decades. Zara's exploration through the rhythmic landscapes of EDM has been nothing short of extraordinary.

Stories in Trance. Our objective is just that. Great music is about conveying a message, an emotion, a story.

Created in December 2009 by Matt & Thomas Carter, and independently run, Stories In Trance is a digital trance music label based in Leeds, England. We have been listening to trance since the mid 1990's, immediately connecting and identifying with the energy, infectious melodies and creativity of music that inspires the soul, and it stirred something inside us both that would become part of who we are. From there on, trance was the soundtrack to our lives.

Over fifteen years, 2000 vinyls and thousands of digital downloads later, Stories In Trance was born. We decided to put something back into a scene that has given us so much pleasure, but want to run our label free from the shackles of sub-genres and obsessions with what category our offerings fall into. This is just about good music, and if that is the sole focus of the listener it will find those who can judge and enjoy on a track's individuality and merits alone. We do things a little differently at SIT. Yes, there is no specific social media presence, we instead focus on getting our music to you the listener through our content being available to stream and download on a range of global media platforms. And that content, spanning over 11 years and over 180 releases, is testament that our way of doing things has left its mark on the trance scene.  

Alongside the label, there is also the long running show 'Stories In Trance- The Chapters'. Originally it took pride of place alongside shows from Ferry Corsten, Paul Van Dyk, Judge Jules and several other bit hitters on Mugasha.com, from July 2010 until January 2012. After the demise of that platform, we returned the show on Soundcloud and Mixcloud in May 2015, allowing us to showcase all that we believe is great and imaginative about this genre, from rare and classic tracks from back in the day right through to the very best of now.

And so here we are. Free from restraint, and working with our artists in an ethical and positive manner, Stories In Trance continues to forge its own path, telling it's own story. One we hope you can connect with.
