We hear from Led Zeppelin's penultimate night of their 6 night run at Madison Square Garden, with a nice 3 source merge. I play Over The Hills, Going to California, and No Quarter (with a little Mary Poppins) to give a nice overview of the show. Good stuff all around. Loud and aggressive.

The Orlando Magic are 22-18 after a thrilling comeback win in New York City inside Madison Square Garden on Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Pops was there in person. The Mecca really is a phenomenal place to watch NBA basketball games. Describing the MSG experience. Paolo Banchero is still phenomenal. The Magic are getting some healthy bodies back finally, and it’s showing with the bench play. Also, trade rumors are stirring with the trade deadline around the corner.

This is an absolutely delightful 1975 Led Zeppelin concert. 2/12/75 in New York City we hear an excellent audience recording from Jerry Moore, who made a great recording.  Jimmy is pretty on top of his game, broken finger notwithstanding. Robert is in great spirits, and Jonesy and Bonzo are locked in tighter than a tourniquet. 

We hear Sick Again (super tight and Robert has a good time), Over the Hills (super awesome with a unique solo from Jimmy with him stretching out with some great licks). We finish up with a badass performance of Kashmir. Sounds like the Les Paul to me, too, so it's extra meaty. Jimmy has some really nice riffs and licks in this. The wings are still wet on this song, so it's nice to hear them groove around a little as they work out the final form.

Today, Frank and I recap the action in Wednesday night's nail-biting game at MSG against the Chicago Bulls! 

Knicks vs. Bulls Recap with Frank Chiapperino!

Franz Wagner tried, but the Orlando Magic went from down forty to losing 121-106 at Madison Square Garden to the New York Knicks to finish off NBA cup group play. The Knicks win East Group A with a 4-0 record. Magic at 3-1 sneak into the fourth and final East quarterfinal spot as the wild card thanks to their great point differential in the prior three contests. Orlando will have to fly up next week to Milwaukee to take on the Bucks in the NBA Cup quarterfinals. 

Despite the disappointing performance on TNT at MSG, the Magic are still 15-8 and the 3rd seed in the conference. It’s still great to enjoy a game in a basketball cathedral such as MSG. Lights, food, buzz, energy, music, celebrities.

144. Dispatch from Madison Square Garden: NBA Cup Wild Card for Magic as Knicks Take East Group A

1995 was a great year for Zep fans. Jimmy Page and Robert Plant had finally reunited, and were touring with a huge ensemble including (not one, but) two orchestras, and the guitarist for the Cure.... and a hurdy gurdy. It worked out splendidly.

This is October 26, 1995 at Madison Square Garden, where Jimmy and Robert played a smashing gig. I play No Quarter (Unledded version), In the Evening/Carouselambra (unreal how good it is), and an incendiary Kashmir, with real strings and not synth or mellotron. It's good stuff, people.

Ted, the Baby Boomer of the bunch, attended Central Michigan University and since the mid 80’s has hosted The Sports Forum radio show and called high school play-by-play of a multitude of sports.

Our Generation-X co-host, Matt Burns, moved on from Corunna where he was a record setting wide receiver and graduated from Grand Valley State University. He now makes his living at ESPN.

Our youngest viewpoints will come from the Millennial of the trio Jerod Fattal. J-Rod starred at quarterback for the Cavaliers graduating in 2017, recently graduated from GVSU, and is working at Bally Sports Detroit.

Along with our unique 3 generation look at sports, pop culture, and current events, we have on a wide variety of guests; from ESPN's Ryan McGee, Ferris St. Head Football coach Tony Annese, media personalities Annie Agar and Wes Blankenship, ESPN Detroit Lions Insider Eric Woodyard, and plenty more!
