Eric Estornel, under the names MAETRIK, MARIEL ITO, MACEO PLEX, and simply ESTORNEL - has been contributing to his musical world around him since 1993.  Always searching for the future of electronic dance, Eric has never let himself be confined by the..
Originally from the USA and now relocated to Valencia Spain, Eric Estornel is making incredible leaps and strides releasing some of the most devastating yet unique music in the industry. His sudonyms Maetrik, Mariel Ito, Plaex, and now Maceo Plex are under great demand for the rich dynamic production and unique blend of techno, house, funk, and electro that only Eric can devise.

Perhaps it's because of Eric's clear Cuban roots or his years in the game, but without a doubt 2010 was an incredible year and only more amazing things are expected of his truly unarguable talent.  In 2010 alone Eric released under the names Maetrik and Maceo Plex remarkable releases on labels like Cocoon, Audiomatique, Crosstown Rebels, Dumb Unit, and Mothership.  Not to mention a slew of amazing remixes for the likes of Morcheeba, John Digweed, Robert Babicz, Max Cooper, Martin Eyerer, and many more.

Now in 2011 Eric after the release of hugely successful "Vibe Your Love" on the very respected Crosstown Rebels, as Maceo Plex, Eric will be releasing in Febuary his full lenth album aptly titled "Life Index".  It will be the start of a great career on Crosstown Rebels and will be huge departure from his typical futuristic tech sound as Maetrik.  Without leaving the Maetrik brand behind, Eric will also releasing a hot new ep on Guy Gerber's Supplement Facts imprint, and a new ep on Cocoon.  Also for 2011 remixes of Mandy & Booka Shade, Timo Maas, Adam Beyer, among others already confirmed.  

11 years since his first release on the respected Immigrant Records back in 2000, Eric is still holding strong to his quest for the future of dance. Whether working on his "other worldly" compositions as Maetrik, his alien sounding electro as Mariel Ito, or his innovative dark house music as Maceo Plex, Eric is always putting his blood sweat and tears into everything he does. Putting aside trends and crushing genre boundaries, no one can argue that Eric has always stayed true to what comes from his heart or his sometimes choatic mind.

I've been listening to electronic music since I was old enough to tune into the John Peel show on Radio 1. Peel first introduced me to Chicago House, Detroit Electro and Rap. I would listen to an entire show with my finger hovering over the record button of my 'tape-recorder' close to the radio speaker just to record whatever 3 electronic imports he would play each night. I wish I'd kept those recordings.
From the moment I first heard 'Roxanne Shante' I sought out everything I could ranging from Kraftwerk, Mike Oldfield, Kurtis Mantronik, Africa Bambata, Grandmaster Flash, Gorgio Morodor, Axel-F, Jean Michel Jarre and just about anyone who used a synth to make music! With the arrival of House in the mid-late 80's the likes of Marshall Jefferson, Frankie Knuckles, Farley Jackmaster Funk, Steve Silk Hurley, Adonis and many more American underground House producers, the music had developed into a new, seriously exciting phenomena.
Music progressed at pace with House and Acid imports driving change, the UK in particular underwent an epiphany of sorts in the 80's and 90's. From Break-Dancing to New Romanticism, the music developed, finally morphing into the early genres of Acid Trance, Techno and Progressive Trance. Heavily influenced by American and underground Dutch and German artists and with the advent of clubbing and non-speaking mixing DJ's, it opened up a Pandora's box of new music, influences, sounds and styles. What that amounted to for me (and most others like me) was an ever-growing range of electronic music that was continually breaking free from pigeon-holes and mainstream pop culture. Electronic music had become the new classical music of a generation.
I can only say that electronic or computer music has evolved beautifully in the past 40 years and I love it as much now as the day I first heard John Peel play fantastic American imports.
I'm not anything more than a bedroom DJ and electronic music enthusiast. I have the greatest admiration for those who DJ publicly and seek to build a following or career from DJing, but that’s not a path I’ve tried to follow. I do love to put together great tunes, so for me using this sort of platform for sharing music is perfect for me. I do mixes both on my decks and using Ableton, as sometimes I find it easier to create a journey through that medium. 
As for making music, I’m slowly finding my way around Ableton in order to bring life to the musical ideas rolling around my head. 
Anyway, I hope you enjoy the mixes I post, please give me some feedback and if nothing else, support the artists themselves and buy their music.

SurowyStan - Dj, promotor, producer.
Born in Warsaw, begun his first steps in electronic music as a fan of D'N'B in 2008 at CDQ, Indeks, 1500m2 clubs.
Beining inspired by Black Sun Empire, Cause4Concern he imbibed and sunk in clubbing culture, constantly searching for an unique sound. 

In 2010 after witnessing Love Parade in Duisburg as well as Mayday in Katowice his taste in music shifted to Techno and upon those changes Surowy Stan initiated productions and sets in such genre.
At the beginning his various productions oscillated in Minimal, however with time his music underwent gradual change of subgenres into Minimal, Industrial and Oldschool Techno.
Voltage and tempo is Surowy Stan's flagship of the older productions of artists such as : Pacou, Surgeon, Regis, Exium. In addition, the nature and sound of Surowy Stan- "Harsh Stan", is a reflection of berlin's club Tresor as Harsh Stan /Harsh Sound is a flagship of it.

Apart from all above Surowy Stan is also a proud co-organiser of underground electronic music initiative - Quality Control.

From the early inspiration of hip hop, funk and soul, he brought his first pair of turntables at the tender age of 15 and has been cutting and scratching his way through ever since. Rolling out from the shores of the English east coast , once he got a taste for electronica there was no looking back.
These days he can be found deep in the Auckland Ghetto, providing the soundtrack for our days and nights - and with his slow jive down beat, sexed up deeper house and intergalactic future B Boy tech, he's got us good.

Samir Kuliev was born in Baku Azerbaijan in 1979. At the very young age he showed the interest in arts and studied at the Baku School of Choreography. In 1990 when the war broke out in Azerbaijan he and his mother migrated to Krasnodar, Russia where he graduated from Krasnodar Theater Institute and started his career as an actor.

In 2000 Samir moves to Moscow and performs at the different theater venues. During this year Samir was introduced to an incredible word of electronic music and spins his career a different direction. From then on he works as a full-time DJ and organizer of unique parties around the Moscow-city.

In 2007 Samir introduces his own radio show about electronic music titled “Chustvo Ritma” (Sense of Rhythm) on Moscow radio station Megapolis 89.5 FM. In a few years the show gains a popularity and becomes one of the best radio shows about electronic music in Russia and the rest of the former USSR. The most famous artists, musicians and Dj's, such as: Solomun, Sasha, John Digweed, Nick Warren, GusGus, Hot Since 82, Guy Mantzur, Sahar Z. and many others great persons were presented as a guests at this show.Today, Samir's «Chuvstvo Ritma» one of the most popular radio show in Moscow, being supported by more than 20 radio stations.

In 2014 Samir starts a record label “Chustvo Ritma Rec” (Sense of Rhythm) where he produces his own music and tracks of the talented Russian artists creating music in progressive, deep, techno styles. 

In 2016, the monthly show "Sense of Rhythm" appeared on the Frisky radio station in New York, where Samir plays a variety of electronic music for his listeners around the world.

In 2016, Samir became a participant in the international ADE conference (Amsterdam Dance Event) by playing a special set on the dance floor of Frisky radio along with such artists as Just Her, The Third Son, Wild Dark and others.

In 2018, Samir's track "Running up that hill (Tribute to Kate Bush) was supported by Solomun at the FrameWork Festival in Los Angeles and at Tulum in Mexico. Nowdays Samir is not only a participant in many Russian and foreign festivals such as AFP (Russia) and Episode (Vietnam). He is also the organizer of his own parties in the best Russian clubs such as Gazgolder club (Moscow), Chauteu de Fantomas (Moscow) Heaven (Moscow) and others.

Currently, Samir is full of ideas, dreams, and passion for electronic music and is open for co-operation. He wants to expand the scope of dance culture and believes that electronic music can express the deepest thoughts, emotions, beauty and true human greatness.
