Born and raised on the Rio Grande river, bordering Mexico and Texas, the intense vivid desert sun of El Paso captivated Andrew Sol, born Andrew James Torres. After moving to New York City and settling in Brooklyn as an aspiring actor, he decided that music was the only way to express himself in the truest form. 

Leaving college in order to pursue his musical career, he presented on September 23rd, 2015 his debut album, "Glints of Light." It was produced in his bedrooms in his Bed-Stuy and Bushwick apartments in Brooklyn. "Settle In" was first conceived in the bedroom of Two Hawkes in Sunnyside, Queens. The listener gets an in-depth look into the mind and life of Andrew Sol. Andrew Sol notes his deep admiration for his own ancestry and heritage, and his lyrics often refer to common themes amongst all people. Irish, Cherokee, and Mexican descent, he understood from a very early age that the barriers put up to separate us are all illusions. A dark past usually tells a hauntingly beautiful story. 
 
Life has never been easy for Andrew Sol. Every moment is spent working towards his visions of expression, love, compassion, and understanding. Music is for the world to hear.

Best described as eclectic, my style is a soothing mix mirroring my personality: mostly mellow with the occasional outburst. Although I have a background in classical piano I have always loved to create and improvise.  Since early childhood I have been trying to duplicate on the piano what I hear in my head.  Now I see how formal studies and improvisation fit together perfectly. I hope to always keep growing and learning, reflecting the beauty of Christ in all my endeavors.
