Short set from Sublime Saturdays Episode VI: The Three of Us. Theirs was a spiritual reset that hit just right as the sun said its goodbye. This week's theme was more-or-less 80s, but I managed to sneak one in from the 90s, because the vibe demanded it! Had a couple of hiccups because I tried to power through the glare, rather than planning ahead. Gelato Vero Sublime Saturdays 4 . 26 . 25: "The Three of Us"

Mostly tracks in minor keys this week with a few recognizable edits. Lots of foot traffic, so I wanted to keep them engaged with familiar, accessible sounds. A few of these tracks I've been practicing with and getting used to outside of mixing, and they happened to be in complementary keys with each other. This one was impromptu again, and it seemed to work out. Took some risks that payed off.

Our other resident, Cardboard Psychic, played something a little more ethereal than usual. It was inspired. He brings something special and unique every week; but you just gotta be there. Not just to witness and enjoy it; but because he doesn't always record is mixes. Treat yourself and hear him in person on his next round.

Gelato Vero Sublime Saturdays 7 . 12 . 25

As the son of a professional flamenco singer, Thomas has always been surrounded by music.  Exposure to flamenco influenced him because it has a dynamic range of emotions—from the "deep singing" style of cante hondo, to the more lively alegrias.  He has also worked in the corporate, independent, and online music industry for a number of years.  At one point he was a Content Manager for the Electronic Music genre at MP3.com, where he screened over 500 songs per day.  Exposure to a wide range of music explains the range of genres in his mixes—he uses whatever carries the mood.  From listening to Umm Kulthum's "Enta Omri" in his childhood, to New Wave and  Industrial as a teen, it became difficult for him to stick to one sound. Though vinyl was his original format of choice when he started in the 90s, the use of digital mixing has helped him better form soundscapes to expand your headspace.  Let him play with your moods for a spell.
