Diese Woche mit dem vielleicht definitiven Film über historische Seeschlachten: „Master and Commander: The Farside of the World“. In der Bereits zweiten Empfehlung aus dem Repertoire von Regisseur Peter Weir, die uns Daniel beschert hat, stehen wir gemeinsam mit Russel Crowe und Paul Bettany in die See zur Zeit der Napoleonischen Kriege. Ihr könnt und solltet uns dies gleichtun, denn aktuell ist der Film tatsächlich auf allen großen Streaming Plattformen erhältlich. Und wer mag, wagt sich als Vorbereitung zur nächsten Woche in die Hansestadt Hamburg (immerhin die zweitschönste Stadt im Norden Deutschlands), in den „Goldenen Handschuh“,  aktuell zu streamen auf Netflix und empfohlen von Maike.

Hoy toca hablar de Master And Commander, el peliculón de Peter Weir del 2003, protagonizada por Russel Crowe y Paul Bettany,  y basada un poco libremente en las novelas de Patrick O´Brian. Repite con nosoros Javier Ors después de dos años y por supuesto Jorge Echagüe, nuestro historiador particular... Hablamos el contexto histórico de la película, que nos cuenta duelo entre dos naves que comienza en las costas de Brasil siete meses antes de la Batalla de Trafalgar,  y también de la perdida casi total de las flotas francesa y española y sus consecuencias para ambas naciones y el equilibrio de poder en el mundo.
