Alexander Scriabin’s piano music traces one of the most remarkable artistic evolutions of the early 20th century—from Chopinesque lyricism to a highly personal, mystical harmonic language. The 24 Preludes, Op. 11 form the cornerstone of his early output, while the 5 Preludes, Op. 74 reveal the distilled, enigmatic style of his final years. The Poème, Op. 32 stands at the midpoint of this journey, balancing expressive warmth with emerging harmonic daring. Ruth Laredo’s performances capture the poetry, color, and intensity that define Scriabin’s pianistic world. www.phoenixcd.com
