Ravel composed this beautiful little Prelude in 1913 as a part of a Paris conservatory entrance test.

Here's a radical arrangement of Ravel's most famous piece "Bolero", which he hated but we all know and love.

The film music for the short movie "Elephants Dream" by The Blender Foundation. My challenge was: "Use only piano!" And I did that. But not in the way pianists did in old silent movies with Charly Chaplin or Buster Keaton. It should sound more modern and cinematic. So I used tapping on the piano body, pressing the pedals, scratching the steel strings and brought many effects into play to create this percussive piano soundtrack. Even if it doesn't sound like that, EVERYTHING you hear is piano! 

Classic fans do hear it: The piece is very inspired of Ravel's Bolero!

My musical background is mainly Classical and Jazz. I started playing Recorder when I was about five, soon after I took up Flute and commenced classical studies. When I was in my teens I bought my first Sax, a Selmer MK6 Soprano, not the best Soprano in the world but incentive enough to get me interested in Jazz and the great musicians of the time, many of whom are still as creative today as when I started to discover them all those years ago. I experimented with a variety of instruments including Violin, Clarinet and Accordion. Later I learnt Piano which was an instrument which I had always wanted to learn and these days knowledge of Keyboards or other MIDI Controllers is essential to exploit the amazing world of Virtual Instruments Technology. I principally play Woodwinds, Saxes, Flutes, Wind Synthesizers, MIDI Controllers and Piano. Jazz is without a doubt the music which I enjoy playing the most, however I consider it a challenge to be able to play any musical genre.

Audio Sculpturing.
This is the terminology I use for composing and creating music using Virtual Technology. The advances in Sampling and Virtual Instruments today allow the modern musician to compose and play music that was previously inconceivable. When I works with VST instruments harmony and melody are not my only concern, one has to learn to combine various sounds or instruments and for me this is a form of painting or sculpturing, just as the artist works with colours and tones in the world of VST we work to the same effect. I am particularly fascinated by combining traditional acoustic instruments with Virtual Instruments and musicians these days have an enormous variety of options available. Today we can create a full symphonic compositions by simply using a keyboard and a computer. .
