The Steele siblings helped shape the Minnesota sound, singing with icons like Prince and Mavis Staples and performing all over the world. Now Jevetta Steele is mentoring another family group called Nunnabove. The Nunn siblings appeared on the show America’s Got Talent and went on to play at Paisley Park and open for Chaka Khan. KFAI's Michelle Bruch joined both families as they rehearsed for the Minnesota Soul concert at U.S. Bank Stadium.

Here's some 50's - 60's  Gospel tribute music from our catalog, with, as Pops said, ''a little wiggle" on the guitar. There's times I just have to preach, and I was strongly influenced by this music as a child and beyond!. These are my original words, but they grew out of Black Gospel music as sure as I am here to tell the tale! This gives credit where it is due. I could give you a list of performers too long to put here. It makes me feel the "Spirit!" that was in it from those early days. I am thankful for the influences that shaped me! You are in the choir if you wanna be! Sing along as the Spirit moves you to.

It's November 8 2025 and the so called Pro Life movement that overturned Roe V Wade are trying to overturn Legalized Gay Marriage. The so called Pro Life Movement that have proven to us how much they really care about life. The so called Pro Life Movement that seperates children from their families want to seperate children from their families again. The so called Pro Life Movement that scares, terrifies and zip ties children and sends their families to prison camps without due process. The so called Pro Life Movement that let families starve by taking away their financial aid. The so called Pro Life Movement that tortures and kills families by taking away their healthcare. The so called Pro Life Movement that still wants to take away social security and medicaid from our fellow Americans.
They have shown us their True Colours. They are cruel, selfish and full of hate. They don't give a damn about life except their own. They are the minority and we have the power to stop them.
Keep boycotting the businesses that support them and the Project 2025 Agenda. Keep resisting and protesting for our rights. Stand up to The Supreme Court Judges who have sold out their morals and dignity to serve their king. And vote out our electected representatives that serve one man instead of the American people. "FREEDOM AND JUSTICE FOR ALL"

This song is about letting go of the grudges you've been carrying. Not because the people who hurt you deserve it—but because your time is too precious to waste on hate. We're all running out of time. Every tick of the clock is yours and mine.

Retro Roland Riso, has over 25 years of club experience behind the decks, with a true passion for all things funky, filled with soul and truly groovy.

As a toddler, he'd spend countless hours enjoying his parents' eclectic record cabinet; listening to artists such as The Beatles, Sergio Mendes, Sly & The Family Stone, The Turtles, Taj Mahal, even The Osmonds and Bay City Rollers.  Little did his folks realize, Roland snagged a few of those gems over the years to add to his impressive collection.  

While fully immersed in listening to music, he began learning piano at 6 years old, which inevitably launched his love to create and produce.

Once considered the "Hardest Working DJ in Philly", Retro Roland was spinning 5-6 residencies on a weekly basis, including a highly regarded internet radio show, "Sounds of The True School".  During his 4 year run, Mr. Riso's guests included Ursula Rucker, The Last Emperor, Rich Medina and Mpozi Tolbert.

He also ran a successful monthly Jazz and Soul Record Show, which was widely popular amongst record collectors, DJ's and producers, including Cash Money, Jazzy Jeff and Quest Love.

Riso also helped engineer Cozmic Cat's legendary Philadelphia party, "Groove Lounge", which brought musicians, vocalists and DJ's a platform to perform in united, rhythmic harmony, which featured a then unknown, Jill Scott.

As an URB Magazine mixtape runner-up, The Soul Provider has shared the bill with incredible performers, including Afrika Bambaataa, Felix Da Housecat, Dubtribe, King Britt, DJ Craze, Vikter Duplaix, house pioneer Robert Owens and the legendary Barbara Tucker.  He recently opened up for Grammy nominated artist, Flo-Rida.

A number of Retro's remixes are in regular rotation on The Craig Charles Funk and Soul Show, featured on BBC Radio 6, with funk 45 releases on Matasuna Records.  Plus, Roland hosts a weekly music broadcast, The FunkBro Show, on RadioActiveFM.

Notorious for working the crowd and rocking the dance floor, Riso maximizes every opportunity to drop a funky "Retro Roland Riso" remix, morphing the room into a sweaty, swanky frenzy!
