REELWORLD HIT THE MARK WITH YOUNG BERLINERS

93.6 Jam FM Berlin has become the latest radio station in the city to get a new sound from ReelWorld.  The rhythmic brand targets young Berliners with a fresh line up of urban music and content.

The new jingles were recorded at ReelWorld's European headquarters at MediaCityUK in Salford and are a re-sing of the hugely successful KTU 2014 package.

Martin Dumschat, Head of Production at 104.6 RTL and Jam FM commented: "I’ve been working with the team at ReelWorld for a number of years now, and when the time came to pick a new package for Jam FM I knew ReelWorld were the team to create a sound that would surprise and innovate - and they definitely delivered. They’ve create a package that raises Jam FM to a new level, it’s perfect!"

93.6 Jam FM is now part of the RTL Radio Center Berlin family along with 104.6 RTL and 105.5 Spree Radio.  104.6 RTL already airs ReelWorld Jingles and Production Vault.

The ReelWorld KTU 2014 jingle package is already on air in The Netherlands, Ireland and Spain.

The ‘Sound of the Nation’ redefined by ReelWorld

The sound of 2FM, the youth station from Ireland’s public broadcaster RTE, has been completely redefined by the team at ReelWorld.

The new radio imaging is an integral part of a wide-ranging rebrand for the broadcaster which has also seen the launch of a new visual image, logo and website.

The major project followed a competitive tender process in which ReelWorld proposed the new sound featuring a mix of authentic young voices from across Ireland promoting the station’s new strapline, ‘Sound of the Nation’.

Laura Beatty is Marketing Manager for RTÉ 2FM: “We’ve been working through a long process on 2FM towards a fully evolved programming and brand strategy, for this part of the project we worked in conjunction with Image Now in Ireland. Late last year we had reached a stage where the time was right for us to turn our attention to the aural brand, one that would match the newly evolving identity and visual language for the station. We worked on the imaging and audio brand with Reelword and our internal Audio Production Department which was a winning formula, ReelWord have a brought a world class and fresh sound to 2FM that fully matches our visual identity  and I know we are all very excited about sharing it with our listeners"

To ensure the radio imaging truly reflected the station’s new ‘Sound of the Nation’ positioning, ReelWorld, working alongside the 2FM team, conducted an extensive vocal talent search to source 10 voices that all feature on the audio. The search included working with industry contacts at colleges in Ireland, searching through videos and audio streams online and live auditions in cities across Ireland. The voices provide a mix of traditional voiceover elements, ‘shouts’ and sings.

Lisa Dignam, Creative Audio Production, RTÉ 2FM: “We knew we needed some completely different radio imaging to reflect 2FM's new visual brand. Ant and his team were with us every step of the way, from auditioning voice-overs and singers all over Ireland to creative brainstorms. What we created is, I feel, a brand new sound for Irish Radio.”

Paul Fernley is ReelWorld’s Client Relations Manager in Europe: “Authenticity was key with this package and that’s why we invested the time in finding the right voices. I think I’ve become the first member of the ReelWorld team to become a Simon Cowell style judge in live auditions across Ireland, and it was a lot of fun!"

The radio imaging package consists of 12 core themes and a wide-reaching ID package for individual shows, all produced at ReelWorld’s European base at MediaCityUK near Manchester.

The new radio imaging completes a trio of ReelWorld branding packages for major youth broadcasters across Europe following recent work for BBC Radio 1Xtra and bigFM in Germany.

Radio Veronica launches new sound from ReelWorld 

The iconic Dutch broadcaster Radio Veronica, once one of the original pirate radio stations, has launched a new custom jingle package created by the team at ReelWorld.

The pop-rock radio station recently went through a series of changes to both its line-up and its playlist, and needed a new jingle package as part of the refresh.

The station returned to ReelWorld for a new set of 16 custom themes.

Authenticity was crucial for Veronica so this jingle package features real guitars, bass and drums to give it a totally credible sound. One theme even features a Talkbox, as used by Bon Jovi, to add to the musical palette.

Chris Hartgers and Guido Sprenger, Imaging Managers at Radio Veronica: “These new jingles really sound amazing on-air – the real instruments throughout the package bring the themes to life. We worked closely with the team at ReelWorld to make sure that everything was exactly as we wanted and we’re delighted with the result.”

ReelWorld custom radio jingles can already be heard on Heart UK, NRK P1 in Norway, Belgium’s Radio 2 and Bayern 3 in Germany. The European business is based at MediaCityUK near Manchester and also recently unveiled a new sound for BBC Radio 1Xtra.

Based on ReelWorld's KroneHit 2018 jingles, the new themes will be ReelWorld's third jingle update for the Waterford based station.
