This one ended up as a bit of an experiment and a slight departure from my usual method, I started as usual creating sequences using Voltage Modular but by the end had converted all the note information to MIDI and routed it to various virtual instruments from the Crow Hill Vaults collection. I did add a few extra effects and created a bit of background atmosphere by applying some granular processing then Valhalla Supermassive on a separate track.

I set up physical controls for everything so I could live mix and tweak parameters, recording them as automation tracks.

Take a trip.  Somewhere in spacetime at the edge of everything. Facing the ghost in the machine. Playing an egg slicer and happy accidents. It made me, and I followed.

I took the haiku quite literally and assembled field recordings then added a drone layer and sequenced semi random melody using sample based instruments from Crow Hill including the new Gong Piano: https://thecrowhillcompany.com/tools/gong-piano

While there were a lot of pre prepared elements the track is the result of a live mix mostly recording automation. I'll own up to there being a fair bit of post recording tweaking, my ageing PC with a 99.8% full  hard drive struggled with simultaneously playing samples/field recordings, running Voltage Modular (generated the "Melody" and turned one sparrow into a flock), and recording audio, the recorded automation was patchy; so while I didn't change anything structurally there was a lot of repair work.

Mizumoods is a conceptual ambient project inspired by East Asian philosophy and minimal aesthetics.
